fsav
Hi all, I just recently bought a rife abaco island series on eBay and with the hurricane upon us decided to take to the workshop. First time taking things o my own hands so it was a little bit of a rough start but got though it with our friends goof off and paint thinner. Check out the wok inspired by the element 29 series on putter lounge but not quite the same. I have. Bobby grace little man drying now more too come on that. Enjoy!!! All in all 100 bucks and about five hours of buffing out what I could. The face is taped and will be the original stainless. Once I am allowed out of the house I need to get the clear coat seal to finish but i likey a lot ahahahahha

RookieBlue7
Be really careful with that paint, especially on the sole. It'll wear quickly. Make sure to ALWAYS use a headcover. If it ends up wearing and you don't like it, you can always strip the paint off and give it a torching and get that honey/wheat color. This one is torched: In The BagDriver: TaylorMade M2 (2017) w/ Project X T1100 HZRDUS Handcrafted 65x Strong 3 wood: Taylormade M1 15* w/ ProjectX T1100 HZRDUS handcrafted 75x3 Hybrid: Adams PRO 18* w/ KBS Tour Hybrid S flex tipped 1/2"4 Hybrid: Adams PRO 20* (bent to 21*) w/ KBS Tour Hybrid S flex tipped 1/2"4-AW: TaylorMade P770 w/ Dynamic Gold Tour Issue Black Onyx S400 SW: 56* Scratch Tour Dept(CC grooves) w/ Dynamic Gold SpinnerLW: 60* Scratch Tour Department (CC grooves) w/ Dynamic Gold SpinnerXW: 64* Cally XForged Vintage w/ DG X100 8 iron tiger steppedPutter: Nike Method Prototype 006 at 34"Have a ton of back-ups in all categories, but there are always 14 clubs in the bag that differ depending on the course and set-up. fsav
Thanks! About how long did u torch it! I was going to torch it originally but thought differently. As for the wear there is a clear coat deal I am going to try. I always use a headcover but will need to train myself on constant cleaing
RookieBlue7
It varies on how long to torch from putter to putter. Just keep the torch moving, and have a good light in the area (I like doing it outside during the day). When it gets like you want it, stop with the torch. It'll get slightly darker if you let it air cool. Quenching it will cool it quicker and stop the color changing faster. silver & black
After you torch it, do you need to clear coat it, or can you just let it alone?
RookieBlue7
No, its a stainless putter so it'll last until you strip it back down In The BagDriver: TaylorMade M2 (2017) w/ Project X T1100 HZRDUS Handcrafted 65x Strong 3 wood: Taylormade M1 15* w/ ProjectX T1100 HZRDUS handcrafted 75x3 Hybrid: Adams PRO 18* w/ KBS Tour Hybrid S flex tipped 1/2"4 Hybrid: Adams PRO 20* (bent to 21*) w/ KBS Tour Hybrid S flex tipped 1/2"4-AW: TaylorMade P770 w/ Dynamic Gold Tour Issue Black Onyx S400 SW: 56* Scratch Tour Dept(CC grooves) w/ Dynamic Gold SpinnerLW: 60* Scratch Tour Department (CC grooves) w/ Dynamic Gold SpinnerXW: 64* Cally XForged Vintage w/ DG X100 8 iron tiger steppedPutter: Nike Method Prototype 006 at 34"Have a ton of back-ups in all categories, but there are always 14 clubs in the bag that differ depending on the course and set-up.
