Figured this would be as good a spot as any for people to show off their purchases, shaft swaps etc.

 

To kick it off:

Today was Golf Town canada's annual demo sale. IE all demo clubs from the stores, surrounding driving ranges, clubs, etc that are returned to the OEM are then put up for sale here. You can find everything from brand new in the wrapper clubs to heavily used ones to ones with custom work done. It doesn't just extend to clubs, it also covers bags and the like. For example they had the Cobra and Callaway staff bags for sale, gobs of Titleist cart bags, etc.

 

Had to go for a walk about. There were some killer deals that I passed up but managed to sniff out a couple of gems

- Found a Cobra Amp 3 wood that came stock with a Diamana Ilima 70 (real deal) shaft. Even if I use another head, I'm way in the clear cost wise ($80 for the club with a $300 shaft)

 

- Cleveland Classic 310 Tour with a Kusala Black minty fresh in it's plastic wrap. Pulling the shaft and sticking a TM tip on it ($90)

 

To bad I recently got new wedges as well as they had a sell of Nike Dual Soles (52/56/60) that were brand new for $150. Which for the record, is the same cost as 1 of them new off the rack.

Good idea for a thread ST.

 

I was in a Roger Dunn about a week ago and I saw a Cleveland Designed By putter (8802 style) just sitting there by all of the Taylormade putters. I gave it a try and it felt pretty good. It was only $30 so I figured why not. I bought it and gave it a try and wasn't impressed at all. I decided that it was way too light so I put on a good amount of lead tape to get the weight up and to hide the glare from the finish (almost blinded me). Yesterday, I put on a black Lamkin EBL grip and it's good to go now. It's a lot better now after adding a few things to it.

Only upgrade I've done so far is to my Taylor Made R9 460, I've upgraded the shaft to the Grafalloy Bimatrix Prototype Tour shaft in white with a Golf Pride New Decade Whiteout grip in white/black..

 

Possible future upgrades

 

upgrade the shafts in my Ping G10 irons to a flighted shaft. Still researching this one.. Any recommendations would be great..

Miyazaki Kusala Tour Edition (white)

 

What a great combo, and looks great white head and white shaft w/ blue graphics.

 

Got it for a $100 out the door out of a used bin, and it's in perfect shape.

 

Would love to find a set of Ping i20's.

That's a steal for $100. What's the flex code on that Miyazaki?

Not really sure what this means or is the right one for me, but it was hard to pass up on the price.

The numbers are from 9 to 0 (9 being stiffest) and from butt to tip. The white is fairly tip soft. Let us know how it goes.
