Lots of guys been asking what the new Ping G25 would look like...well Ping is good about keeping these under wraps and close to the vest. Best in the business at it in all honesty. But since they sent them in for approval they have now shown up on the USGA site:

First impressions?

Anser V2 with higher launch/spin characteristics.

I'll be curious to know if they're going to counter weight it like the G20 was.

Equally, I like the black. I guess Ping got enough requests for blacked out G20 heads like Hunter had to go black throughout the line. I like it. Makes it less block like and more sleek. I guess Ping didn't want to play second fiddle anymore in the asesthetics department.

My one concern here is that if Ping goes all adjustable as well, what's going to happen to those who ordered through their digital lofting service to alter the face angle? Unlike the G20/i20, Ping will not adjust the face angle on the Anser as part of the service, only the loft. The heads themselves are indeed adjustable, but really, half a degree either way isn't going to help that player.

Looks better with the black, but still not great. Interested to see the i25, i's usually look better in my opinion.much sleeker, and classy for lack of a better term.

Don't need an adjustable G. Keep the Anser adjustable, G simple and i for better players. The only reason I look forward to G25 is the fact that I've played with the G20 and love it. Golfers who haven't tried G20 will pass on G25. AMP Cell, Covert, TM ??? are going to kick Ping a*** in marketing.

Here's what I think would be cool:

PING moves into a system where every driver in their line up is adjustable and each head (Anser, i, G, and K) all have particular, well known properties (could be fade/draw bias, high/low spinning, etc). The fitting cart has each head and shafts that all work in any head. Order the head and shaft that you want fits you. Boom.

Didn't the Anser line replace the K line? If not, wouldn't the K20 come before the G25? Ping always releases one line in he winter and one in the fall, so when would the K line come if we can assume G25 is this winter, as would fit the pattern?

K line is gone Matt. Dicontinuted earlier this year, not being replaced as of yet.

Replaced it in place, not so much in function.

Not really true. The Anser driver is one of, if not the, lowest spinning driver made as of recent years. That wasn't the case with the K line.

Exactly. The two lines were quite different in function

You just said the Anser line replaced the K line in place but not in function. That statement was incorrect. Check your quotes first please.

Did check them anser line went in, k line went out. Replaced the k line as a line of ping clubs, did not replace k line in being ping's biggest game improvement functioning line.

I think we misunderstood each other. Both are very forgiving heads really. It's a matter of whether a person needs more or less spin to determine which will be more forgiving for someone. Both are listed as extremely forgiving on PING website.
