MmmmmmBuddy
I had a chance to preview and hit the 2013 X Hot woods today. All I can say is WOW. These things are good. Clean look at address, solid feel, and amazingly low spin on the driver. I had a difficult time keeping the spin rate over 2100. The shaft we tried today was the new Project X PXv. I will try to get get pictures up tonight when I get home.... Matt Saternus
I like the crown, but I'm still not a big fan of the sole. The sole is not my favorite, but it does look better in person. Super Tuna
Crown and sole look nice both in picture and in person. Too shallow though. I think I'll keel over in shock the first time I see a deep faced driver from Cally. MmmmmmBuddy
They literally took the clubs out of their Costco box set threw some tech in and started marketing them. Please, Callaway, STOP NAMING EVERYTHING X (Insert however the club was produced)! I can assure you that these look good in person... not Costo-esque at all. As far as naming goes, I hate it that everything is called the same thing... (see Burner) but it sells to the public, and they are the ones who buy golf clubs. Ice
They did finally dump the Burner. That had something about it though that worked. And they always had evolution on their side with names. Callaway sticks an X before or after everything they release and up the number by 2 each time or whatever. The RAZR line would have been awesome if they left the X out of it. Now I want it to go away. apprenti23
Callaway clubs have always had a Bertha or X line in them. One of the things Chip wanted to do was to simplify the iron lines and reinstitute the X and X Pro Series lines which have been around for ever. Personally I'm glad bc they had way too many options last year in iron sets and this will make it easier from a retailers stand point. I also used to love my x pro series irons back in the day and am glad they're bringing them back!

This year it's a bit more simple to say the least. MyGolfSpy is only major golf site that refuses advertising from large golf companies. With your support we can keep it that way. reg
What is with the crown graphics, looks the same as R11. The club looks nice but I still can't understand why OEM's are heading this way, too distracting.

sparnar
New Callaway staffer Nicholas Colsaerts hit a 400 plus yard drive yesterday during the Volvo Golf Champions 1st round. This tournament is being played in Durban, by the coast which makes it even more incredible. Sure the hole is downhill, but Colsaerts was playing with Ernie, and he outdrove Ernie by 112 metres. lmh3
I was also extremely impressed with the X Hot line, I found that I hit the Razr Fit Xtreme driver better than the X Hot, but the X Hot Pro 3 wood is a beast. I have never played a Callway club, but the entire line for 2013 impressed me. The new leadership of the company is also very energetic and seems to have finally devised a plan for the future. I expect some impressive developments over the next couple of years from them. ms1195
I got a chance to hit the X Hot driver at Golf Galaxy last week. I also hit the Razr Fit Xtreme and the new Nike Covert, and the X Hot was the best out of the group for me. I thought the feel was fantastic, and as was mentioned earlier the spin was low. I think the shaft was a stock Callaway PX and I don't think it was the PXi so I'm sure there is room for improvement if I got fit for a shaft. I also think the crown looks the same as the R11 except in silver, so I would be interested in testing the Pro version, although it may be too low spin for me. Overall I was very impressed with this driver and it warrants giving the 3 wood a try as well.
