New Byron Putter Model - The Bombora!

Last Friday, March 19th, at the Inaugural Club Byron Mixer in beautiful Huntington Beach, CA, the Bombora was introduced to the world.

 

The prototypes were amazing!! The genius of this putter design is that it can be made as either left or right handed, and its updated design from prior versions Byron has made over the last 20+ years results in less toe-flow. This can be altered through aggessive shaping and weight reduction in the heel when making the putter for a customer. This is a TRUE custom putter design accomodating any neck, and allowing for any toe-hang from face-balanced to toe-down. It also can be finished in to a broad range of finished head weights from 365 to 320.

I can't get enough of these pictures. As I said on PT, the thing that amazes me is how many different looks Byron can get out of this one head through hand grinding.

Well, that is one mighty fine looking putter isn't it. Great shape, finsh, didn't go overbaord with the stamps. I like it.

Interesting idea to engrave mill marks on the back of the putter. I've never seen that - very different looking. Nicely done.

IMO, this is one of the coolest things on this putter. I really like how the tuna pattern is compressed on the back to fit that smaller space.

Actually, none of the necks in the pictures are a goose neck. The putter on the scale is a long round neck (aka long pipe). IMO the round necks look best on these putters. The neck options on the Bombora are: short round neck, long round neck, Rincon/flow neck, plumbers neck, long plumbers neck, slant neck, long slant neck, centershaft, I-beam plumbers neck, and the s-bend neck (some refer to as a swan or goose neck - picture attached).

 

The base price of $450 includes all of the necks except long plumbers neck and long slant plumbers neck. These have an additional cost of $50.00.
