Byron Putters

We've had a number of Byron putters posted on the board and what has struck me is the number of options being discussed that are available on each model.

For those that have gone through the process, how do you determine which options to go with? Does Byron assist with that? What is the process? It all seems very intimidating if you are not a putter aficionado.

Assisting you with selecting the options is what Steve and I do as reps for Byron. Personally, I focus on performance and look first. I ask what look you prefer and why. Next, I want to know about your putting stroke with focus on toe-hang and head weight. The order forms to build a putter walk you through assembling a putter. Helping you to build your putter is the part of the process I enjoy most.

Send me an email, and I'll send you and order form.

Dave and Steve are great, they'll help you with any questions you have. The best thing to do, IMO, is just look at as many pics of putters as you can, try as many styles as you can, and figure out what will make a custom putter perfect for you. Beyond figuring out the "real" stuff (headshape, neck, weight, etc), you'll want to see all the cool stamping and finish options to make your putter pimpin'. Dave is definitely good at this, too, he hooked me up with the surfboard engraving on my gamer 006.

I called Steve a couple times and exchanged a lot of messages... I knew the head style I wanted. The weight didn't really matter too much. My first design had a lot of stampings. But I posted my photoshop mock ups to the PT board and was talked out of a lot of them. And it turned out for the better. I knew I liked the look of a stepless putter shaft. I looked at other putter makers for ideas and took an idea from a SC mil-spec and put the specs on the bottom of my putter...

From my experience dealing with Dave it is very simple and he has the patience of a saint and the knowledge to make your dream come true! As a matter of fact I spoke with him just last evening about my second Byron, a carbon Proto Bombora in LH!!

Thank you for the compliments Rick. You are too kind. smile.gif
