You buy 4 sets of irons shafts, 2 of which are the same in slightly different lengths, just to shaft one set of irons. Then sit and debate if you should sell the others or buy more iron heads since you already have the shafts...

Sell em and repeat for new iron heads! That way, all your irons have perfect shafts.

My excuse is I have two backup sets ready for guests and friends.

First backup set with Callaway X prototype, jaw wedges, odyssey putter and Ping K15 Driver.

Second backup set with Mizuno MP 57, SM3 wedges, odyssey putter and R9 Supertri.

 

Now I know I am either a collector or ho....... or golf club hoarder in progress.....

I have several left handed heads as well for the exact same reason. Lefty stuff is cheaper.

You leave after the first round of the club championship and buy two putters for the afternoon round.........and then buy a third in the pro shop and none of them have ever been on a golf course!

Blade so you are the guy that stole the keys to my storage building I knew those photos looked familiar. But seriously I have a club shop out back of the house that is packed and then I have a rented 20 by 25 storage faculity but I have sold some stuff but my 6 sets of MacGregor blades will not be sold

Haha! Well I'm glad to say I got rid of most of that. I had picked up a load of clubs that came from a shop that went out of business, probably six times more than that. Was hoping to find some goodies mixed in with the junk. Made my money back plus $50 on the way home with it all. Play it again bought all the putters off me. All junk.

 

I found a set of fg-17s in there in good shape. I'm keeping those! Love em. About a dozen other iron sets in there. I've given some away. I'll give most of what's left away too.

 

There were a couple sets of Browning irons, 440s and 500s. Wide short blade. I wouldn't play them. But they are unique. Had a guy bragging that he had a set and they're collectible. Don't know about that. But I guess someone might collect them.

 

There were a ton of wedges in there too. Some goodies, mostly junk.

 

So you could say I'm recovering! I'm getting rid of clubs faster than I get them now! Haha!

 

Oh, there were a few funny ones in there, like a wedge with vertical grooves instead of horizontal!??? A set of Wilson Reflex irons, slotted with special goo in the bottom to keep dirt out. Sound familiar? Kinda funny.

Back when I owned big trucks the Flying J truck stops gave fuel points for purchases. I did accumulate enough points to get a set of those Browning irons but never hit them sold them to some cat for $100. I am a big Browning shotgun fan though but they needed to stay away from golf clubs

you find out that you have three more adults coming for Thanksgiving and they all play golf, but will not have clubs.  So you are able to outfit all three (2 men and a woman) with appropriate clubs out of your overstock. In addition to my wife and me.

 

(and still have extra wedges, putters, drivers and hybrids.)

Depends on if you go to the store and hit the new ones, but never buy.  If so, you're a club tease.
