Adam is trying out a new putter this week. Looks like a Kombi mixed with a Futura and a Detour. Only pics I've seen are on another site and are watermarked. But the putter is very interesting for those mallet users.

Yep, that's it. Married the Kombi, Futura, and Detour. Otherwise known as marrying his 3 worst designs (and worst sellers). People will buy it if he'll release it though. And then flood the secondary market with them in 6 months and you'll be lucky to get a 50% return on investment.

What would you call worse than the Detour, Kombi, and Futura? And which one sold worse than those 3? And I'm not talking about his Blue Goose as a part of Ray Cook's line or the Mizuno Reason models. I'm talking the ones that have bore his name big time. Guess I should say since Titleist/Scotty came around. I can't think of any worse than those 3. Lol. I may be wrong but those 3 were his worst production putters I've ever seen, used, or seen sold (and held their value worse too).

Not a fan of the Detour, but I do like the Futura and Kombi. Kombi S is outstanding IMO

I think that all three designs have wins on tour too though. I think the Futura won at Doral one year....

Oh, and this one bears a big resemblance to the Ping iN Wack-E...

 

And I realize that those designs have wins on tour, doesn't change the fact that those 3 felt most dead to me of all of his putters. I like Scotty's product but some of the designs, IMO, have missed the mark. Just my opinion though. And opinions are like buttholes, we've all got one.

 

That said, I'm sure this one will initially sell like crazy if he releases it and then it'll die the death that the Futura and Detour did and you'll be able to get them for a hundred bones on the secondary market. Some people will buy them and love them. I can't see me liking it.

 

Course I also said that the R11 would make me vomit when it was initially released because of the white and I played one later that season and kept it in the bag for a year.

Has anyone seen the "headcover" Adam is using? It's a red canvas bag with drawstrings that Scotty drew on with a Sharpie.

Obviously, I owe an apology to all the Trekkies on the site. Clearly, now that I see a better view it is not the Enterprise on a stick. This is of Romulan design. Since Odyssey uses Klingons to design their putters why not.

Bingo! The masses will always rush out to buy anything with Cameron's name on it, even if its a poor design and a copycat of existing technology.

Its amazing how some people in this industry can copy and existing design and people will still think its revolutionary, exciting and new.

Agree with you on all points there Rookie. Scotty could go to Home Depot and purchase some 15 LB sledge hammers and put his name on them and people would buy them especially if he made a fancy cover to go on them
