This place seems to be filled with great people that truly like to share information,and are just all around friendly and helpful. I've read through many threads on here, and I'm really impressed with the knowledge and courtesy displayed. I think I'll enjoy this place! I've been playing for 13 years. I took the game up at 40. I really don't know what my handicap is..... I never bothered to get one. I usually shoot mid to low 80's and I've cracked the 70's a few times on those rare "magic" days. Welcome to the forum. As far as not having a handicap I no longer have an official handicap. My club sent out letters saying that they were joining the GHIP or whatever it is and it was going to cost $15. They were careful to explain that money went to the USGA and they made nothing on it. I told them if they would have said that they were spending the money on beer, cigarettes, and strippers I would have handed it over. But I was not giving them a dime that was going to the USGA because of the Rule 14-1b. It caused to come up with my ruled 14-1rr. "Don't give the USGA a dime until this nonsense stops." I do not use a long putter but if I want to I do not want them to tell me I can not.
