I am terrible at these, so I'll give it shot.

After day 1 we have myself and Mr Theo tied at the top.

What a predictably bizzare first round. I thought two years ago was going to be crazy but this year is crazier still - if you follow this stuff closely you know that there was very little discernable difference between the teams seeded 3 to 12. Even the 1's aren't all that 1ish - there are no super strong teams - normally there is a team or two from the power conferences with fewer than 4 losses - a stumble here or there on the road in conference play - not this season.

 

The hard part is figuring out where the upsets will come - We could see a 1 go down prior to the Sweet 16 another one at the Sweet 16 level and nother one in the Elite 8. Remember the lowest seed to make the final four two years ago was a 3 (UConn.)

 

Fun tournament so far because it's been so competitive.

5 final 16 teams are out (thanks Georgetown & Notre Dame -- must be the no meat on Friday thing for Catholic schools). But 7 of the final 8 and all final 4 teams are still in play....c'mon Louisville!

I'm watching this year's tourney with a heavy heart since my Cats are out but it's still the best time of year. That Wichita St- Gonzaga game last night was great!! I have tried and tried to root for the Cards but just can't do it, I always find myself hoping they lose down the stretch. I picked the Hurricanes to take the crown in the only bracket I filled out. It's wide open this year, who knows what could happen.

I had Temple over IU though because I also submitted this bracket for a deal where you get boo- ck-oo bonuses for upsets - I'm riding the back of the Ducks but could really have used the Owls today.

 

Oh well I like anything Indiana in regards to real life as in anything from the state of Indiana - my adopted home - so I hope the Hoosiers do well going forward - that and no one who's competing with me in the other bracket has IU.

 

Fun tournament - this last set of games has gone to the wire - can't ask for much else.
