Just a small intro.

 

Late 20's duffer (-16 hc right now) who spent his childhood getting lessons from his dad. Lived in Portland for ten years after high school and now back in Boise for a job I recently took.

 

Big fan of MyGolfSpy and looking forward to being part of the forums.

Welcome to the forum, and let me be the first to invite you to the MGS Vancouver Open. It is just a short 11 hour drive from Boise.

 

I thought I was going to jail in Idaho once, and it was not a pleasant experience. I was driving someone else's car. Got caught speeding through a town I did not even see, and when I went to pull the insurance card out, a clear plastic bag with a leafy substance fell in the floor. The sharp eyed cop asked what it was and I said I had no idea and no desire to learn what it was.

 

I told him that since I am driving it is my ass in the sling but I have do idea what it is. We voted and it was decided to take a closer look at it. I was so relieved when it turned out to be a five year old piece of mistletoe in a sealed bag with a label on it. In spite of the fact that I did not know who the car was registered to (it was in the wife's name and I did not know the last name) he let me go because my story was believable and no ticket because he could tell he scared me enough with that package.

There's a new course (2-3 years young) that my Dad likes to play called Timberstone. Plays pretty wide open, not enough tree growth yet but the greens are all pretty tough. All two-tiered and play smaller than they are. Otherwise I'll probaby spend my Summer playing at Falconcrest and Banbury. That's one of the little known things about Idaho. There aren't a ton of top level golf courses but the few that are here are CHEAP. Both of those courses are around 40 bucks w/o a cart. The same tier of course back in Portland costs 60 and up.
