Name is John. Picked up golf about 20 years ago, hacked away, then had kids. I let the game go until about a year and a half ago. I have improved quite a bit, still blow up on several holes, but closing in on better game management. I'm pretty excited. I've been fitted for new clubs and will have the cash in hand next week to go ahead and order them. I've settled on Ping G25 irons 5-U, Ping G20 3-20* and 4-23* hybrids and a Ping G20 4-16.5* fairway wood .(saving some cash on G20's but great clubs) I am going for Taylormade ATV wedges in 54* and 58*. I already have a Taylormade Superfast Burner 2.0 driver and an Odessy White Hot #9 putter.

 

I am really enjoying the game again. I love being outdoors, spending time with my 16 year old son who plays too. We aren't too good, but we have a laugh and get some time together away from everyone and everything else. Hope to make a few friends here. This place is very informative. Love it.

 

Oh wow, my avitar... LOL I'm also an avid PC gamer. Battlefield 3, Black Ops II, etc... Young at heart I guess. My son keeps me into that mode. He is a gaming fool as well.

 

6/28/13 Well, picked up my ATV wedges today, and decide to stick with what is close to my set up already. I got the 56* for sand, and 60* lob. That has worked for the last year, so I stuck with it. Ordered the G20 hybrids off of ebay, got demos for 1/2 price! My fit exactly, and they would look just the same in a few months anyway. LOL Also got a line on a G15 17* 2 hybrid. I may just stick that in my bag in place of the G20 4 wood I had planned. I'll give it a go and see what happens.

Welcome John, great that you and your son can do this together. I have a 2 year old and another due in two weeks (both girls) - I'm really hoping that they'll have some interest in golf as, like you say, I think it's a great place to just 'spend time' together.

I go back to PONG! Then Mattell Intelivision. But for PC gaming, I started back with Madden 96 and Monster Truck Madness. Both mulit-player. Now I am playing Battlefield 3, COD Black Ops 2, Starcraft 2, Battlefield Bad Co 2, Counterstrike Global, Crysis 3, Gotham City Imposters (great game on Steam for FREE) Assassin's Creed III multi-player, etc. I'm a multi-player geek! How about you?

As far as recent I haven't played in a year now. I started PC gaming in 2000 and quickly got into the whole clan gaming thing with Rainbow 6 Rogue Spear, followed buy all the Rainbow 6 series games to Raven Shield. While they were developing Raven shield for a year off Rainbox 6 games I played Americas Army which is still one of the best free FPS out there. Of recent I went through all the Call of Duties and Battlefiled's.
