Great! I don't have a clue where to setup a legue with money prizes. Anyone have an idea?

I'd be playing if it were IDP for sure. Not certain if its just team defenses because its not a very deep draft in that format. Could care less if its PPR or not, just need to know because it changes draft strategies entirely. Also need to decide if there will be a flex or no flex position.

 

 

It gives me a 5th league too, so that's about where I like to be then do 3-4 daily joust leagues weekly and 1 college football league on DJ. Gives me 10 teams per week which is about what I try to average.

I would love to try IDP because I never have but I'm in regardless just because I'd love to play with you guys.

 

I play in one crazy PPR league this is also a PPC league - its ridiculous - it skews so much towards QB's plus they get 6 points for a passing TD.

 

At any rate anyone of the major outlets will host leagues and keep track of money, etc for you. My bigger money league has some very interesting rules - bonuses for over 100 yards rushing or receiving, longer TD runs/catches and some other stuff. CBS sportsline hosts - it has a fairly substantial surcharge because we are so customized but we each take a bit of that hit on. Our buy in is already $200 so what's another $17?

 

I'd say either ESPN or Yahoo would work - I think they are both free to use.

I'd vote for ESPN. I like PPR, and never played PPC. I've also played with IDP in addition to a team defense on the same team, and it seemed to work well. Fairly standard rules work well.

I have never done an IDP but might be interesting. I have been in a PPR league for going on 9 years that is very competitive. We have a live draft and it's $100 each to get in. I think a buy in would keep it competitive here as well. Would we be able to get everyone together at a certain time for an online draft? I hate auto draft...

I don't do auto drafts lol. I'd think we could get 10-12 people with a financial commitment to show up to a live draft (or at least care enough to prerank players and set it to auto draft their team for them).

 

If y'all want I can just port over the settings for my IDP league and send out invites to get the ball rolling.

I like auto draft. I've won many times because of it. So I want to join, but fully intend to let the system draft for me.

 

I do manage my teams, just not the draft.

Also, my league uses a bidding system for waiver picks and it works very well.

 

Each team starts with $800 (I think), then to pick up someone off waivers, you have to bid a minimum $10. The catch is the person who bids the highest gets the players, so I've seen players go for $200+ when a team is desperate enough or the player is that good.

 

Beauty is you have to manage the money, because once you're out, you can't get anyone off the waivers anymore.

If we can figure out a way to do live draft that works for both the eastern time guys and west I'm in. Love live drafts. With that said it'll be hard to start a live draft at even 8 eastern on a weekday cause I'm usually just getting off work by then.

That makes aquisitons so much more important. In smaller leagues you wind up with these all-star/powehouse teams with only big names - I don't like that.

We'd need to set it up and look at dates that work for everyone. I work an odd schedule(12 hour shifts and we work M, T, F, S, S one week and W, T the next) and am on the East coast. The time to draft is also dependent upon how many teams and how many persons participate in the draft while it's going on.

I'd be interested, but I really don't have much time to invest in it. I love football, but in the past, I've struggled to keep up with what needs done to be competitive in FF.

I've never done both as a matter of personal preference. Lets get a list of 10 or so people wanting to play and get me email addys and I'll set it up. We need to decide on who's gonna keep the monies for the season (needs to be paid prior to the draft IMO) and get that squared away as well. Then we can set a draft date (I'd prefer if it were between the last preseason game and first actual week/game of the season personally). Nothing like drafting a team and having a starter go down right before the season that counts starts in the preseason.

If you're ok with 12, we can try and say that the first 12 people to shoot you their email are in.
