Bag of the MBP (2017 Update)

Recommended Posts

You don't wanna know what shipping to Canada is....

Simple solution: It's time for a trip to Texas. Zach, Rover Rick, and I are gonna start working on the Texas open. Use the high shipping cost on a plane ticket and pick up some grips while you are here! Win Win. Bring your wife so she can get some grips too.

That bad?

I keep tell him that $370 (airfare) will include shipping and personal delivery of the grips. He will also get 48 hours of 1 on 1 time with me, in which we can discuss several things I am an expert in: Texas history (up until WW2), golf grips, accounting, NFL, and NBA topics.

His Dad gave me one and put it on my driver before we played. I like it a lot. Very tacky yet doesn't leave your hands feeling sticky. The stiching works like a reminder. They also have less taper so if you like to put tape under the dominant hand to fight the hook you don't have to. The craziest thing is the performance when your hands are wet or sweaty. They actually grip better when damp.

Glad you like the MicroPerf!

MBP, our bags have some interesting similarities... The RocketTour head cover, the wedges (hope they're doing well for you!), and most importantly, you are using the same ball AND marking... Now just imagine the complete and utter chaos if we both played the same courses!

great looking bag!

Can't beat that, who doesn't love to talk about the NBA all day lol

Wedges are awesome, crazy spin. I do find them a touch on the higher launching side though.

When are we going to play the same course together?

Sweet bag Dan! I loved the Ozone when I had a stand bag, sold it to a friend and kind of regret it.

Very nice picture composition, we'll have to point reviewers at this!

I'm starting to really love my 60* the most. In fact, it's nearly yielding 56* yardage!

One of these days. Maybe there should be an even bigger MGS Open in the Chicago area. I'm sure that airfare into Chicago is more cost effective than most destinations, Plus, those of us from MN could drive.

I really thinking about bending the 56 to 55 for gapping and launch. I am a little hesitant about this because of the huge success I'm having out of the sand with the 56 sole and would hate to screw with the bounce.

Chicago area has been duly noted for MGS 2014

He has no excuse now, I just sent him a link $130 each way from Canada so he can join the Texas Open and pick up his grips. Of course, I did not read the fine print and he may only be flying in to Omaha but still, he has no excuse.

I've been considering the same thing actually. I've been using the 60 a lot more often out of the sand unless it's a longer shot out of the green side bunker, so I may have less risk in bending mine.

It’s been a while since I posted but it’s time to update what is in my bag for my first season of professional golf.

There are definitely some improvements that I’m looking forward to but overall I’m pretty happy with my bag so far. It helps that this setup has me -2 thru 54 holes of tournament golf (and $1,200 in winnings) since the driver, 3wood and wedges went in the bag on June 23rd.

So here is what is in my bag.

      Driver: Titleist TS3 - Diamana White Board 70X tipped 1” & 1” short
      3wood: Titleist TS3 - Diamana White Board 80X
      Driving Iron: Titleist 712u - Accra 110i X
      Irons: Titleist 714 AP2 4-PW - KBS C-Taper 130 X
      Wedges: Vokey SM7 - Dynamic Gold X100
      Putter: Evnroll ER2 - P2 Aware Grip
      Ball: Titleist ProV1 Yellow
      Glove: Under Armour Iso-Chill
Range Finder: Precision Pro NX7 Pro
      Speed Trainer: Golf Stick Pro

      Carry Distances per GCQuad
      Dr (8.5*) - 290
      3w (14.25*) - 265
      2 (18*) - 245
      4 (21*) - 225
      5 (25*) - 215
      6 (29*) - 205
      7 (33*) - 195
      8 (37*) - 180
      9 (41*) - 165
      PW (45*) - 150
      50.F.12 - 133
      55.S.11 - 117
      60.M.08 - 105

Well folks, debated not posting but figured I've gotta start somewhere! It's a bit of a hodge podge, but here's my current load out:
Driver: TaylorMade R9 SupterTri (Fujikura MotoreF1 65 shaft)
3W: Callaway X2 Hot (Aldila Tour Green 75 Tx shaft)
      Irons (PW-2): Ping Eye 2
      Wedges (52 & 60): Mack Daddy 2's
      Putter: Ping Cushin
Being that my wife and I still have college loans breathing down our necks I'm on a bit of a budget. This in mind, I'm wondering if anyone has advice on what would be most worth upgrading next? There's not really a club in here I can't stand, and don't want to go buy something that will only be a marginal difference from what I've got. Hit me with what you think!

Hey everyone! new member/first post here so bear with me!
Callaway (unknown model) Grey Goose stand bag (looks awesome, purchased from PlayItAgain)
Cobra F7 Driver - Stiff 60g Fukijura shaft - Garfield "Born 2 Birdie" Headcover
Callaway Rouge 3 wood - Adila Synergy Regular shaft
Cobra F7 5 wood - Regular Fukijura shaft - My old Callaway Diablo 3 wood Headcover
TaylorMade TP Rescue 4/22* - I'm not sure how old this is, I am in the market for something new
Cobra F8 Iron set 5-GW - Regular flex TrueTemper XP90 shafts
Ping Tour-S 54*/12* bounce wedge - KBS Tour Shaft
Adams Tom Watson 58*/8* bounce wedge - Adams branded shaft
Tommy Armour Impact #3 Putter - 35" Black painted shaft
I think the next things to be replaced are the Rescue, then the wedges, then the driver. I also have the 38" Counterbalanced TA putter I have used twice if anyone is interested! Enjoy the pictures:

This is my first post so here goes!
Driver: Callaway Big Bertha Epic 9* - Graffaloy Blue 75x Shaft 45"
3 Wood: Callaway Big Bertha Epic 13.5* - Project X HZRDS Black Handcrafted 75g 6.5
      Hybrid: Titleist 816H2 19* - Aldila Rogue Max 85g x
      Irons: Mizuno MP-18 SC 4-6 & Mizuno MP-18 MB 7-PW - Project X 6.5 Shafts - 3up + 1"
      Wedges: Titleist Vokey SM7 50*, 54* and 58* - Dynamic Gold X100 shafts +3/4"
Putter: EVNROLL 1.2 Tour 36" - with Stability Shaft

Ball - Taylormade TP5x or Bridgestone Tour B XS
      Glove - Footjoy Sci-Flex

Thinking about changing a few clubs out, the Driver, the 3-wood and the hybrid.
Looking at getting either the Ping G410 or the Cobra F9 driver. The Taylormade M5 3-wood and the Taylormade P790 UDI 2 Iron instead of the hybrid.

Here's a video of me hitting the M5 3 wood, it's a beast! Was loving the Project X HZRDS Black Handcrafted 85g 6.5 shaft that it had in it, felt more stable than my 75g one.

edit: Scroll through the thread to see how my bag setup has progressed since joining the MGS forums.

Finally finished going through my clubs and updating. As some of you might know, I stopped playing golf for about 6 years, and the last time I played regularly was probably 10 years ago. Fell back in love with the sport after my first round back 2 months ago, but playing the same sticks I've had since high school wasn't exciting, so over the last 2 months I've worked through all of them and replaced everything!

      Old setup:
      Callaway 454 Big Bertha
Callaway Big Bertha 3W (the original ones)
      4-PW Ping Eye 2
      Callaway X-12 gap wedge
Cleveland SW - don't remember the name
Ping b60i - the original isopur one from the 90s

Now on to the good stuff:

Callaway GBB Epic 10.5 HZRDUS 6.0
      Callaway XR16 3W Fujikura Speeder S-flex
      TaylorMade M2 22* Stock R-flex
      Nike Vapor Pro Combo 5-AW
      Callaway MD3 56-10 & 60-8
      Evnroll ER-7
