Moecat
http://carlsbad.patch.com/groups/business-news/p/golf-cart-of-the-future-being-designed-in-carlsbad The cart is operated on a centrally-located joystick instead of a steering wheel, meaning that riders on both sides can drive the cart. Posted by Eric Yates (Editor), July 23, 2013 at 12:53 pm Artist rendering of the Mercedes Benz Vision. The City of Carlsbad and golf are synonymous. As the home of Callaway, some of the most high-tech equipment designs are coming to fruition every day – right in our own backyard. Now Carlsbad is putting itself on the map once again, as the design team at Mercedes Benz has announced plans for the "golf cart of the future," which is being designed here. The Vision Golf Cart design was recently unveiled at the 2013 Open Championship, won by San Diegan Phil Mickelson on Sunday. The cart is truly a high-tech marvel. According to World Car Fans website, the cart runs off an electric motor and has a backup battery that is powered by solar energy. Its sleek design looks almost futuristic, and features a wide variety of amenities: Rotatable multimedia panel (used to control AC system, radio communication with clubhouse and other golfers) iPod / iPad docking station USB hookup Rain sensors to automatically control windscreen wipers Small refrigerator to keep drinks and food cold Temperature controlled cup-holders Storage consoles Windshield that darkens for sunny days A "Fore" button which can quickly warn other player of wayward shots Another amazing feature is that of retractable, lightweight doors that can be easily installed or removed, for use in in-climate weather. The cart is operated on a centrally-located joystick instead of a steering wheel, meaning that riders on both sides can drive the cart. So when is The Vision Golf Cart coming out? Well, it isn't. The plans released last week were merely a design concept, but one that will certainly be well received if and when prototypes are built.

GolfSpy WD
soooo...cosmetics and a few luxury items? Personally, I like the single person cart idea better. This is just for showing off you have money, more so than a Mercedes car. @GolfSpy_WD

whiskey golf
That's really cool looking but unnecessary, like Bubba's hovercraft.
apprenti23
Eh... Most of the prestigious clubs and amazing places I have played are walking only with a caddie. I know I would not take the jetson mobile if I had the option to choose between the two.
