Undershooter
Hi everyone, I recently got a set of scratch wedges for a good deal. The only stipulation was that I would not be Sure What shaft came in it. I can usually identify a shaft through stickers or markings. I am pretty sure that the shafts are either dynamic gold, kbs hi rev, or dynalite. Any help on identifying them would be greatly appreciated. Let me know of any info you need to help. I figured since they were tapered they weren't dg's but i don't know much about kbs or dynalite. Guess I will have to get them reshafted with s400s to go with my x100s. hckymeyer
That shaft doesn't actually have steps, so I'd guess it's the FST. Both Dynamic Golf and Dynalite have steps in the shaft. A step is a ridge where the shaft gets bigger, looks like progressively larger ripples. A stepless shaft if one that is smooth the entire length of the shaft. I've never used the FST Hi-Rev shaft though so can't say for sure if that is what it is. Maybe someone else can say for sure, otherwise like RB said you can pull the grip. RookieBlue7
Yeah the pics didn't load on the phone when I was on there earlier. That looks like it could be a Rifle spinner or some form of Rifle (or PX since they bought out royal precision). I'm leaning toward a Rifle Spinner as they had stick on shaft bands as opposed to silk screened labels that PX does. The HiRev, at least the ones I had were stepped. I'm betting on it being a RP Rifle or Rifle Spinner. Going from memory, I believe the code on the butt is something like URSWES or URSWEX (for s or x flex) for the spinner. http://www.royalprecision.com/royalprecision/rifle.asp In The BagDriver: TaylorMade M2 (2017) w/ Project X T1100 HZRDUS Handcrafted 65x Strong 3 wood: Taylormade M1 15* w/ ProjectX T1100 HZRDUS handcrafted 75x3 Hybrid: Adams PRO 18* w/ KBS Tour Hybrid S flex tipped 1/2"4 Hybrid: Adams PRO 20* (bent to 21*) w/ KBS Tour Hybrid S flex tipped 1/2"4-AW: TaylorMade P770 w/ Dynamic Gold Tour Issue Black Onyx S400 SW: 56* Scratch Tour Dept(CC grooves) w/ Dynamic Gold SpinnerLW: 60* Scratch Tour Department (CC grooves) w/ Dynamic Gold SpinnerXW: 64* Cally XForged Vintage w/ DG X100 8 iron tiger steppedPutter: Nike Method Prototype 006 at 34"Have a ton of back-ups in all categories, but there are always 14 clubs in the bag that differ depending on the course and set-up. If not I can just cut it off and regrip but I was hoping to save some $$ until I got my bag set up how I want it lol If you own an air compressor and a blowgun attachment, you can blow the grip off and then blow it back on later. Or yo can use a v tool and work it under the grip and remove it that way. If you have neither, you could fashion one with an old wire coathanger and do it that way. It's more work using the coathanger, but you can save it using one. Just cut the straight portion out of it (I saved 4 inches after the bend for my handle). Make a loop at one end. This is the end you'll work under the grip. Carefully work it under the grip, adding solvent every little bit until you've worked the coat hanger in the length of the grip and can move it around the shaft. Then, simply slide the grip off. Hopefully ou have a bore brush you can remove the tape goop with prior to reinstalling. Undershooter
Hi everyone, thanks for the help. One of my buddies who is a little more familiar with Rifle shafts confirmed thats what it is. I am going to hold off reshafting them for a bit just to see what I think of these. Honestly I was having issue keeping balls on the green bc I would hit shots at the pin and the ball would usually do the one hop and stop with my old Vokeys but instead was spinning 15-20 ft back and sometimes off the green (new grooves will do that for you I guess LOL). Either way I started to get them figured out and am liking them so far. Thanks for all the help identifying them! RookieBlue7
Dead arming chips with new grooves and spinner shafts seems to help till you get used to them. That or find a sandy range and beat some balls with them (or just practice in a bunker) for a day or two.
