That's how little time it takes to launch a golf ball that is just over an inch-and-a-half in diameter from where it sits nestled on a green. Nike's Polymetal Groove technology allows athletes to tackle this challenge with more consistency and confidence than ever before â€” and that same innovative technology paves the way for modern performance in Nike Golf's new line of classically-designed Nike Method MOD putters, available November 1.

 

Inspired by some of the most popular putter models of the past four decades, Nike Golf engineers combined tradition and innovation to craft the newest tech-savvy additions to the Method family. Timeless styles and shapes are updated with a unique arc design profile, red detailing and satin chrome finish to round out a line of four premium, milled putters that offer the ultimate in Tour-proven performance.

 

“We were able to take a range of classic designs and make them perform like modern putters,” says David Franklin, Nike Golf Master Modelmaker. “We incorporated Polymetal Groove technology, which allows athletes to lift the ball, launch it and turn it forward as quickly as possible for a truer roll.  We removed weight from the center, placing it in the heel and toe instead for a lower and deeper center of gravity. It's Nike's interpretation on classic, familiar shapes.”

 

Each Nike Method MOD putter is weighted to length to ensure proper feel, and the line offers a range of toe hang options determined by where the weight is in relationship to the putter head. This allows athletes to choose a model to his or her personal preference for optimal forgiveness, roll and accuracy: MOD 00 (face-balanced); MOD 30 (30 degrees of toe hang); MOD 60 (60 degrees of toe hang); and MOD 90, (90 degrees of toe hang).

I feel like the Mod90 is going to be a hot seller.  I think its awesome that the Bullseye had survived even to this day and that even after so many other newer, possibly better designs have come and gone, that the Bullseye endures.

The mod90 does look very sweet. This is also the first time I have seen Nike use "athletes" in their write ups instead of golfers. Seems like an interesting choice of words.

After seeing the testing review here, I tried out the Nike Method Core MC01w (http://www.mygolfspy.com/2013-most-wanted-blade-putter/) against the Yes Callie I started using this summer.  I really liked the Callie and I wasn't necessarily looking to add (yet another) putter but I've struggled more with putting since I had some eye surgeries a couple of years ago (plus I'm a club ho ) so I was interested in comparing results.

 

I found that I setup a little less upright with the Nike, and distance control and accuracy was better for me on putts over 10' and it's now in the bag, so I'm certainly impressed with the Nike Method.  Good to see them expanding their lineup!

Very crisp feel in the Mod-90 compared to Mod-60 or my current  003 gamer.

The Mod-60 compared to my current 003 is much easier to square up; just sit her down behind the ball, it's pretty sweet. Seems like there's less toe hang on this style now.

The Mod-90 is going to steal a lot of hearts.

High toes are sweet.

You get an immediate sense of roll without skidding.

They really need to redesign the headcover and get rid of the red on the putters. Other than that, I think they are nice, especially the Mod 90.

I don't think many have. I'll admit I haven't, but regardless I've always loved the looks of blade putters such as the Bullseye and 8802. I gamed a modern version of the 8802, the 8882, for some months but the reason I don't use putters like those is because I don't perform well enough with them to game them long term.

I had one in my bag for 2 years during high school golf and the Camerons collected dust. Bagged it for a year or two after as well. Have a box full of Bullseye or Wilson Augusta or Julius Boros heads too currently. Oh, and the two Cash-ins

I use a face-balanced putter, but lat spring I was in ABQ and played at the Sandia Golf Club. Didn't have my sticks on that business trip, so rented a set. Their rentals were brand new Titleists with a Bullseye putter. I thought Oh great! But it was an enjoyable round and I putted quite well with it. I wouldn't buy one, but I have used worse.

Got my MOD 90 today. It was touch and go for a while. No supply and big demand at present I was told. Passed the basement carpet test with flying colours. Puts a real nice roll on the ball.

Disappointed... Finally got to try a Mod 90 in store. Loved the head and the way it setup. But the 6:00 toe hang just doesn't work for me. To say I was disappointed would be downplaying it a little. It's a shame really because it felt great and loved how it looked. I just couldn't get putts on line with it.if it were face balanced, I'd be $300 lighter

I wonder if the heel and toe weights can be adjusted to make the Mod 90 face balanced, or if it would alter the feel too much.

Yeah but if someone like Tom Slighter could make some custom weights to face balance the putter or if it throws off specs too much.

If I'm gonna pay to have weights milled, I'd be better served to just put in a call to LaMont and have him mill me a bullseye with a fat flange and face balance it. Milling work isn't cheap. Sure, I could bust some out at work on the mill, lathe and a tap and die set but if I'm paying $300 for a putter off the rack, I don't want to bump the OTR putter up to the cost of a custom.
