New to site from San Diego

Hello,

 

Michael from San Diego here, recently devoted myself to trying to play better golf and have dropped my handicap 3 strokes in the last 4 months. I have also gotten into following the PGA more closely playing in fantasy golf tournaments and it already payed off with me winning a trip to play at Pinehurst #2 with Ken Griffey JR. next month.

 

anyway im new to the forums and looking for a skins league in San Diego, I know to search under the games in your area forum but figured this is a good place to start the conversation on it. 

 

most played courses are: Riverwalk, Balboa, national city, Eastlake, and Coronado. 

 

hope to become a avid poster here and get a group together to play regularly, because being the single tacked on to a group is getting old.

Welcome welcome. I'll be in San Diego this January. Can't wait to get there. Congrats on your PINEHURST trip. Have not played number 2 since the redesign but was able to play it the day before the US AMATEUR in 08

I am stoked to get to play it on the U.S. open redesign. one of the only tournaments that I'll watch on TV and have a recognizable feel of the course. My plan is to play Torrey pines south the week I leave so I can say that I have played 2 us open sites in one week.

Welcome! Just got back from San Diego. Went to an awesome event Cobra golf put on in Carlsbad. Ended up spending an extra night in San Diego after missing my flight getting stuck in traffic. Wrecks all over cuz they got a bit of rain. Didn't get to see the city though. I'll have to go back.

Welcome to the My golf Spy !  Pinehurst #2.......  Word to the wise,  As far as reading the break on the upside down bowl greens.......  ALWAYS listen to your caddy, There will be some instances when you are sure that it breaks a certain way and your caddy will say it breaks the other way.......  Have fun, Pinehurst is a blast.  If you get a chance,  Play Tabacco road and/or Tot Hill Farm ....

They set me up with a warm up round at National golf club in Pinehurst as well! I get to travel at times for work and go on vacation to Orlando and play there with my dad. last time I played Alaqua golf club, rolling hills(complete s***) and castleberry. all fun but definitely a different feel than the so cal courses.

So freezing rain is forcasted for the day I am playing #2, so the trip has been postponed! sucks but at hopefully we can get in during the weeks prior to us open

                I'm in San Diego also,  we should shoot for a rd, I've played everywhere but Coronado,   sweet Pinehurst  #2, only play that on TW14  lol     we should get a rd together and post pics here!

     I'm down to get out for a round sometime! do you have a SD resident card for torrey? i want to try and play torrey at least once a month since i have the card now but getting days off is not as easy to pull that. where in the county you located and what are your top courses here?
