I have an upcoming fitting for a full bag at True Spec in Orlando. I have some question based on research I have done by reading posts on here and r/golf that have me totally not knowing what I’m supposed to do.
First thing I have heard people say to ask for OEMS if budget is a concern. I don’t think budget is a concern I’m prepared to spend 5k but I’ve heard that a full bag can exceed 7k that I can’t wrap my head around. If I ask for OEMS what’s the point of being fitted?
Second I have heard of people taking their trackman data and spec sheets to other builders and saving money that way. That makes me nervous with no guarantees. But if it’s really a 25% savings that’s significant. Do any of you have experience doing this and is this the way to go? If so where would one find these builders. I’ve heard discount dabs is one.
I keep seeing people say places like TXG, True Spec, and CC are a rip off if you buy from them.
I would love some opinions and guidance.
Personal details are I started playing in October, I take lessons every other week, practice 3-4 hours daily, 18 hcp on arccos, driver swing speed 106-110.
