are eligible to receive this small token of appreciation from the MyGolfSpy Forum. 

 

Sadly, it is a little thinner than I would have liked

(I would call it a tour card, rather than a bag tag... so I shall name it a bag card  ),

But, it does serve it's purpose of telling everyone walking by your bag that you are proud to be a member of MYGOLFSPY Forum, and that you are a card holding and participating Official Member of the MGS Forum Member Virtual Championship Tour. 

And if they are clever enough to take a picture, it links them directly to the forum...

Can you say... "New Members"?? 

 

 

(I also want to give props to @Lacassem for being the inspiration for including the QR code on the card)

 

Here's what to do:

Just send me your mailing address by DM or to my email: tim.root@mygolfspy.com.  I promise the mailing address will go no farther than the envelope I write it on to mail your Bag Card.  Then watch your mail for your "Tour Card" and display it proudly on your bag during your next round. 

 

Seriously and Genuinely... Thank you all for making the Virtual Championship Tour threads a fun place to share your rounds, your stories and have a little friendly competition between the awesome members we have here at MGS. 

 

Remember... 5 rounds posted makes you an OFFICIAL MEMBER of THE TOUR.

This is awesome man! I actually printed the one I made up and laminated it but it’s pretty small, this is way better. His many rounds do I have posted lol

also @GolfSpy TCB will there be a points thread for this season like season 1? Just curious

I was playing this afternoon into the evening with someone new and tried to find the QR code I screen captured from when @GolfSpy SAM posted what @Lacassem had made.  But it managed to remain hidden between all the other things saved on my phone. 

The "Tour Card"/ pseudo "Bag Tag" would have been perfect to have and point to it and say "just capture this with your phone."   I actually had that exact thought about how good such a thing would be to have and tried to imagine what would be needed to make one.  Until it was time to tee off again and my well practiced not thinking anything when I swing wiped clean that topic of interest.

Great Question... We are a little farther into the season than I would have liked with the first update for the Season 2 MGS Member Forum Cup Year Long Points Race.  But, Yes.  We will be running the FORUM CUP POINTS all year.   

I have all the data for the first 5 weeks, I just need to compile it.  I am hoping to update the list and start the Season 2 thread in the next week... so STAY TUNED  

As far as your other question... 

Looks like you have EARNED YOUR TOUR CARD!!!  Not only 4 rounds in Season 2... but you were also one of the inaugural players during the first week of the tour.  That alone should qualify you .

I would like to thank my friends and family for this opportunity, without them none of my golf dreams could have been possible. Second would like to thanks MGS for taking a flyer on this player! (I wouldn’t be a good speech giver if I ever won anything, would go something more like this:)

First of all... WELCOME to MGS Forum!!  Glad to have you here.

Unfortunately, we are set up to post only in the current week.  I lock the threads for new posts about a week or so after the end date so all new scores are posted in the current week (honestly, mostly so we all don't accidentally post in a prior week).  However, you can post multiple scores in the same week, so you should be able to get to your "Official 5" pretty quickly.  Looking forward to seeing your scores!!

As an honorable Forum member I would never suggest that one could post 5 rounds for a plausible run of good golf fortune to play 5 rounds in one week that were played in honor of each day of week 6.  An honest golfer as I am sure we all are would play rounds during the weekly competition and post accordingly.  It is what we do as the credible, consistent and competent men and women we are  (cue the appropriate music for the scene)

Welcome to the forum, @DMcA! The VCT is something I just got into posting with this year as I can play more regularly with a club membership this summer. It's really fun to see how you stack up against other members, and I also really enjoy seeing the long drive numbers. There are some mashers of the golf ball on here (I am not one of them )

I'm fortunate enough to be able to play almost every weekend and have been using Grint to record my scores for my handicap but hadn't quite figured out how to post my scores on the forum here. Definitely looking forward to the friendly competition.

It is super easy to post, @GolfSpy TCB has a template that you fill in. It is always posted at the top of each weekly thread. I had some questions initially as well, and just send him a DM. The mod team here is great about responding to questions. I also have been using Grint! Really like the functionality so far.

Just click the button in the thread and follow the prompts.  All you need is a gross score, course handicap and how many gross strokes over par you shot... a few other nits and nats like net birdies and longest drive if you wish.  Be sure to talk a little about your round too... we all love to see the details and have that post round discussion while sitting at the virtual bar.
