Was just reading the new golf ball report (amazing stuff) but still find myself totally confused on what soft golf balls are/do for a golfer. I understand that it is essentially compression but my question is (besides distance which the report gives) and taking out the myths of swing speed and temperature that mygolfspy already wrote about what does a hard vs soft ball do for me? Is one more forgiving than the other or is it simply down to how I feel it comes off my club? How do I know which ball to use!?

Also curious left and right instead of just head on.

Curious what everyone’s thought’s were on how much wind actually effects the ball? For example 10min right to left, 150yard shot, does that mean 5 yards? What about off the tee? 200yards? 5mph, 15mph? curious how much others compensate as I think I probably don’t compensate enough. also wonder how much the different balls effects it.
