  1. Since posting this I actually gave the Prowithlin 7 iron to my son and I bought an actual Lag Shot 7 iron so I could see the difference. The Prowithlin is a bit stiffer and the flex point seems to be a bit higher on the club. The lag shot seems to have the flex point about 3/4 of the way down from your hands where the Prowithlin is more in the middle of the club. The lag shot also seems to have a mid size grip where the Prowithlin is a standard sized grip. (I like the mid sized as thats what I have on my ping irons). They both seem to be very well made. We got a bunch of snow here in Minnesota the last 2 weeks so I havent been able to get out. I'll try to remember to post what I find to be the differences in how they work on the range when I get a chance to use it. I can tell that the actual Lag shot is going to be a bit more difficult to hit just because its a bit whippier.
  2. I have the Prowithlin golf swing trainer 7 iron. My wife bought it for me for christmas after I had asked for the Lag shot 7 iron. In fact...at first I didnt even realize this WASNT the Lag shot as it looks exactly the same other than the obvious name on the back of the head. (Which I didnt even look at for months since its been winter here in Minnesota). Same blue shaft, ect. I have used it 2x and really like it. It has helped me get the feel of the proper swing tempo and I am hitting the ball on the range better after using it. My question is: has anyone compared this directly to the Lag Shot 7 iron? This is much cheaper. I was looking to buy another one for my son but am curious if I should get the Lag Shot instead.
  3. Update: I went out and played a round with the putter. I really liked it. The distance control was really really good. I think its a result of the counter weight in the grip. I decided that I am going to keep the putter so just to eliminate any doubts, By chance my playing partner had a blade putter with the superstroke 3.0 slim on it. I tried that and liked it. So I went and bought a Super Stroke 3.0 slim and have installed it on my putter. Note: I've installed a few grips in my day and this was by far the worste one I've ever tried. However it was made worse by my tape not sticking well to the shaft. So note to self: always use tape thats not more than 2 years old!! Anyway, new grip on. Like it. Keeper. Only thing is that gawd awful Kirkland logo on the back side. I dont mind that they say Kirkland..but for petes sake at least come up with a different script to use for your golf stuff. I dont want my puttter with the same logo as my 5 gallon can of Kirkland coffee.
  4. I actually have a tee time tomorrow. My plan now is to try the putter out tomorrow on the course and see how I do. If it feels good and it seems like there is promise there....I'll probably spend the $25 and get a new grip. Not sure if I'd go with slim 2.0 or slim 3.0. Anyone had experience with both? or just "upsizing" a Super Stroke grip in general? I'll just comment on what I was going to start to look for before finding this Kirkland was an Odyssey White Hot OG double wide. I had tried a bunch of putters at a local store and liked that one over all the others I tried. But I figure I can find that anytime. I haven't seen too many of the Kirklands come up used. (At a decent price anyway.) Which in itself is kind of surprising.
  5. How would you pull the grip without wrecking the grip? I've replaced lots of grips but never tried to pull one and reuse it.
  6. I picked up a Kirkland KS1 the other day used just to check it out. Good price and I've wanted to try one. Its not a bad putter at all...but I noticed that the super stroke grip is slightly off. if I were to align my putt with the flat spot on the grip......the face of the putter would be slightly closed. I miss putts both to the left AND right of the hole....so not sure if its goofing me up trying to compensate or if I'm just not hitting it well. (Or a combination of both). I actually haven't taken it out on the course yet...just the putting green. I'm not 100% sure I'll keep it because I'm not 100% sure if I wouldn't putt better if I replace the grip. I'll note It does have special made 24g weights in the heel/toe and a 50g counter weight in the grip. So its not the "light" KS1 that so many people didnt like. And my distance has been better since using it. At least on the practice green. I'm just curious if anyone has found a definite improvement with fixing a misaligned super stroke grip. I'd probably get another super stroke 2.0 mid slim or a 3.0 mid slim to replace it if I did. Only $25.
