  1. Hey there, I'm finally signing up after a year of lurking. How long have you been playing golf? I started golfing with family in HS at the local muni in Ohio, but never took it very seriously. One year back I decided to pick it back up again to prep for a trip with my father to Scotland. What’s your handicap or normal score? I'm currently sitting at around a 30 handicap, but I'd say about half of those strokes are old habits dying hard. and I'm finally seeing better results now that I'm focusing on simplifying my swing, and slowing down (until recently I was averaging 100+ mph w/ my 7 iron, which is not a recipe for success). What do you love about golf? I'm really loving just spending the time on-course clearing my head, and focusing on the continuous improvement of my skills. What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies I'm looking to improve my game, and I think having a place to ask questions and contribute learnings is important for that. Where are you from? What is your home course? Originally Florida (I actually grew up across the street from Grande Oaks Golf Club where they filmed Caddy Shack), but I've been living in the Bay Area in northern California for about 15 years now. Finding time to play has been challenging with my first kid, but thankfully I'm about 5 minutes from Corica Park so I've been able to consistently hit up the driving range, short-game practice area, and the par 3. What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? I can golf year round in the bay area, and there are so many legendary courses nearby, but it's not cheap to play here, and tee times are hard to come by. What do you do for a living? Software Engineering, mostly distributed systems and infrastructure How’d you pick your user name? It's a slight modification of my name.
  2. Ditto in Norcal - if the marine layer isn't sticking around for the round, I'm wearing a bucket hat. I'm vain when it comes to my bag, but never for sun protection.
