I'm glad to finally post here. I've been lurking for a while, and always reading the reviews. I decided to start entering to be a tester for various things and figured I should finally introduce myself. I have several sets of irons from when I was younger and played a lot - Hogan Apex Plus, Callaway X-12 Pro Set (my older son is using these), and a few others. When I decided to get back into golf, I started with the Hogans, then decided to buy used stuff to get more modern tech (stronger lofts, more forgiveness, etc). So my entire bag has been bought used, I just need to pick a new bag one of these days too. Once I'm more consistent, I'll see about getting fit for a set too. And to get there, I've been looking at starting some lessons - I've never had one in my life, I learned from my dad and it's always worked for me. He still plays in 2 leagues, and has won them both multiple times.
How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score?
I've been golfing since I was little. I played as a kid, then high school. I played pretty regularly until I had kids then I took about 14 years off while my kids were younger. As I'm still getting back into the swing here, I'm shooting high 80s to mid 90s - pretty inconsistent.
What do you love about golf?
That I can get out and play a round with my kids and my dad. It's fun to spend time with the 3 generations on the course.
What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies?
100% of the time when I search for golf related reviews, GolfSpy is at the top of the list. I don't know any other Spies.
Where are you from? What is your home course?
Eden Prairie, MN. I don't know that I have a home course, but the two I play the most are Braemar and Stonebrooke.
What are the best and worst things about golf in your region?
Minnesota can have a long winter, so courses are packed in the spring.
What do you do for a living?
I'm in software development.
How’d you pick your user name?
Last name shortened - used on Xbox and other things that need screen names too (usually with numbers or something to make it long enough).
