My opinion is that you get what you pay for. This is a great site based on a great concept, but its pretty unrealistic to expect that it happen for free.
Seems to me the choice is either WE pay for it, or someone else does. Whoever pays for it is going to expect to have some influence and I'd rather it be us the consumers than anyone else.
I ditched my Golf Digest subscription shortly after I found MGS. Who knows how much money I've saved or at least spent more wisely because of this site, so for me, pitching in was a no-brainer.
