I picked this up today at Golf Galaxy because, well, it was only $30. I was just wondering if I have anything special here, or just a regular Mizuno/T.P. Mills putter that's worth $30. Either way I won't be disappointed, the thing is as soft as..err...something really soft.
FWIW it says "Mizuno" on the back, "T.P. Mills" on the face, and "D. Mills Workshop Design" and "Forged/Milled One Piece" on the sole. The sole also has what appears to be a circled capital "I".
Pardon the crappy cell phone pics.

I hear ya man. I struggled with that myself. I even tried to make the bars go from right to left, but that actually made it worse. One option I can think of is not to use a bar for accuracy, but then it looks completely different from everything else.
Another idea is to express the accuracy as a negative -5 = a 5 yard miss. At least that way longer bars are better, but that could prove even more confusing.
One of the thoughts that I had was to make accuracy 1/x, which would make the higher numbers mean more accurate, but I think that would be confusing.
-
The only gripe I have (and it's really more with the review than the system itself) is that accuracy is a little misleading. In all the other categories (I think) the longer the bar, the better. For instance, a longer bar means more distance. But in accuracy a long bar means worse accuracy. I don't really know how to fix it without making it more confusing though.

The thing Odyssey putters, even limiteds, suck for holding their value. It's gold plated, not solid gold billet so the gold's weight is very very minute. Unless you find a big sucker, 200-300 is the max value I see it at.
Which is sad because all Scotty Cameron has to do is stick a "For Tour Use Only" stamp on a plain stainless steel putter and it's worth at least a few thousand.

Is it really?! I get all kind of weird looks because the first thing I do when someone gives me a new type of golf ball is put it in my mouth! And here I thought I'd invented it!
I find that a good test of feel is just to dribble the ball off of a wedge a few times. With Top Flites you can really hear the click feel and with tour balls they feel obviously softer.

On tuesday I played 18 holes in total and complete pouring rain. I played the front nine rotating between my 4 Taylor Made Targa Tour gloves, then played THE ENTIRE BACK NINE with the Vision Golf glove. It lasted 9 holes in pouring rain! The towel worked great too.
The only golf ball I tried out was the prototype sample ball. First of all all of the balls are soft off the putter face. Partially because I was putting with a Scotty, but part of it has to be the ball. That said, the prototype ball was far and away the best. The feel was comparable to the Penta, as was short game spin. I had no problem getting it to stop where I wanted. I only played it a few times, a few chips, a 5 iron tee shot on a par 5, a bunker shot, and distance was also up to par. Out of the bunker it stopped just where I would have expected it too. So basically, I like the proto ball.

You're Welcome!

This picture came out weird, but the box is pink, even though it looks orangish:

Mine came in today too. I actually caught the TNT guy as he was pulling into the driveway as I was on my way home. I'll post some pictures here and my review will be up in a week or two. Just is checking the stuff out I really like the towel, the glove, and the colors on the balls are soooooo awesome. Here are a bunch of pictures I took:

Wow... who was it, and what ball? I missed that, I was out all day...
My guess is Katsumasa Miyamoto because he has the only 62 of the week (although my glance at the leader board was quick, I could have missed someone).

You guys actually have rain? I am starting to forget what it looks like. We are in the middle of a several month long drought, my lawn looks like, well, brown grass.
Anyway I shot an even par yesterday with 5 birdies, 3 bogeys, and 1 double. I was playing the forward tees though because of the people I was paired up with so my differential was 4.8.
-
I would most definitely review your golf ball(s).

I shot 1 under a couple of days ago. 3 birdies and 2 disappointing bogeys.
Shot another 1 under a couple days ago. I was flaring every drive right but ended up with 4 birdies and 3 bogeys, and it was on 18 holes this time. Then I shot a 6 over yesterday, but I wasn't really paying attention most of the time. That's what I get for playing with friends I guess.

I shot one of the weirdest rounds of 2 over yesterday. 4 birdies and 2 bogeys, but I was absolutely killing the ball. I hit one drive 340 (downhill) but 100 yards left because of the wind. Luckily I was in another fairway with an open shot to the green but I had not idea what club to hit because i didn't know the distance. 100 is my best guess because of how short my LW was and how close my SW was when I tried it again for practice just to see the distance.

here's an update.
Rumour is in TCC that they will be $1800 and limited to no more than 100, like the staff bags he produced.
also hers something to think about. he makes 2010 headcovers for each release this year at $72 each not including shipping and there will be roughly 14 releases. Thats $2,026,080 from limited headcovers alone
I just died a little inside.....

Yup. Similar to the Matrix shafts in the Adams Fast 10's, the Mitsubishis in the original Nike Sasquatch's...plenty of examples.
More importantly, how can I get companies to send me free clubs?
Titleist does that with the VooDoo and the Whiteboard too.

Nope. You shouldn't feel too bad for him though, his first "real" golf bag had: TM driver, brand new TM irons, Vokey wedges, and a Bettinardi putter. Not exactly like I was handing down pants with holes in them.
I just drooled all over my keyboard. What an awesome hand me down. One of the many downsides to being the oldest.

In honor of your efforts, I will no longer mark my ball. In the grand totaling of things, this will help to balance out the universe and make everything equal.
After the round, mine are custom tree marked anyway.
The mark that birch trees leave is actually pretty neat looking, except for the fact that your ball is shot.

Check out this exchange between a GD reader and GD editor Mike Stachura. Kind of interesting that someone in that position would take what some may consider a rather arrogant posture:

What irons to buy?
THURSDAY, MARCH 25, 2010

Taking a break from all things Tiger, let's answer this question from a California reader about new irons. I asked Mike Stachura, Golf Digest's Equipment Editor, to reply.
I need a new set of irons and I need your help! I have an average score of 90 but no "official handicap". My swing speed is between 85 to 100mph+. I currently have an imitation set of R7 RAC cavity back taylormade irons that are 6+ years old. I want to shoot in the 80's consistently and hopefully break 80 one day soon. Any suggestions, questions, or feedback?
Ryan Johnson, San Diego
Mike's reply, delivered with his characteristic sensitivity:
An IMITATION set of TaylorMade irons? Did you use imitation money to buy them? Do you drive an imitation Mercedes Benz? Do you own an imitation Golden Retriever? First things first, take those fraudulent irons and burn them. Second, write a letter of apology to TaylorMade at 5545 Fermi Court Carlsbad, CA 92008-7324. Third, take a look at the Hot List to get an idea of what's out there and what's good. Fourth, go find a pro shop that has a quality fitting program and an ample selection. See which of your favorites generally suits your mood and needs and then get fit for shaft flex, lie angle, length and grip size. Fifth, get a few lessons and regular checkups this summer with your local pro. If you're not breaking 80 by the end of the year, it's probably because you need a new driver.

That's terrible, and he didn't even answer the question. He should be the one sending the apology, not the reader.

...or like a breakfast cereal.
They're magically delicious. Golf balls are a little rubbery though.

One red line through the side stamp.
Or a green clover..
yellow moon
blue stars...
Sounds complex.

Scratch is making some damn sexy blades right now. Here's a couple tour custom irons, including Ryan Moore's. Also a fan of the Vega RAF-CM Black Satin irons.
I like those Ryan Moore ones, very clean looking.

I saw that the first shop at the top had the Avatar clubs too.
The new review system with the clones would be very cool.
I would want to see what durability with clones would be like.

I'm about the same as Tyk in this regard. The balls are great for distance and vision (and really, I can't overstate that), but not something I'd play everyday as a lower handicap.
Absolutely LOVE the glove though. I've probably logged around 20 rounds and it's still going strong. Even played one round last year in pouring rain and it was much better than traditional leather gloves.
