Degreed in Turfgrass Science, Specializing in Golf Course Operations from NCSU, 1974. Entered the GC Industry first as a Class A/B Superintendent, with management positions at the Golden Horseshoe GC (VA), Pine Needles (NC) & Pinehurst CC #1,#6 (NC). Five years as Director of Golf for the City of Savannah, GA. Regional Agronomist for the American Golf Corporation with oversight of 19 facilities, VA-FL before branching out on my own as a Golf Course Operational Consultant. Blessed to interacts with some of world's most noted golf course Architects (Fazio, Jones, Dye, Hurdzan, Maples).  

Played competitively since the age of 14. Won the 1988 Atlanta BellSouth Classic Pro-Am as a 3 hcp amateur. Serious accident in 1992 curtailed my golf for almost 25 years. Lots of memory loss and physical challenges to overcome but on the way back! Currently playing to a 9 with sights of being a 6 before the year is out.

Only had 4 sets of irons since 1967. Sentimentally, still have all the sets. (Spalding Elite, Palmer Axiom and recently upgraded to Taylormade PSi irons from the SLDR's. I play with an older Taylormade R1 driver, set at 8 degrees. Recently at a Taylormade fitting, Trackman only showed a 12 yd distance increase and non-measureable dispersion difference using the newest Taylormade M3 over my R1, also set at 8 degree.
