I'm totally for using data to help make an informed choice about any purchase I make but when it comes to golf equipment you need to get your info from a machine at a store or from your pro. So I wouldn't necessarily pay extra to get a recommendation online if I'm already paying to use a launch monitor. Should I be able to collate that info myself at home without trackman etc I would definitely use online fitting to make a purchase. Until then its face to face for me.

Hi everyone, hoping you can help advise me on a set of used Irons I can pick up or trade my current set in for. A bit of background on me, I used to play a little when I was still at high school but more at the behest of my dad who is a keen golfer rather than actual interest in the game myself, but have started playing the game again in October last year and I am hooked. I currently use a set of Titleist AP1 716 which a friend sold me for a very reasonable price, (I can get more than double what I paid back as trade in) and I would say they are very good clubs but now I am starting to get a bit better I'm looking for something to replace them. The problem is not the irons themselves but rather the shafts, the shafts in the irons are A-flex, 70gram graphite shafts. Now that I am making good contact on the ball and have drastically lessened the amount of out to in on my swing these clubs seem to be more of a hindrance than a help. I have been unable to go and get fitted for a new set due to current lockdown but I don't intend on buying a brand new set of irons this year as I have a big birthday next year and plan to buy a new set of irons then, but i don't want to play this coming season in a set of Irons that are ill suited to me. I have done the ping Webfit and whilst I'm not sure of how accurate it is, the irons it recommends for me are 105g steel with an extra stiff shaft, 1/2 an inch longer and 2 degrees upright. I'm wondering if you can recommend irons that are of the same age or perhaps slightly older than I can pick up for this season and if I should go ahead with trying to find a set of used irons that closely match the specs that the ping webfit recommends.
