Edel had University of Mississippi golf team do a study regarding round grips vs non round and aim. The results were very much in favor of the round.
Plenty of reasons this could be the case but in my opinion one reason is the installation. If a flat from grip is off by 1 degree, it's not good. And how many people can tell if their grip is off by a degree. Having installed hundreds of putter grips, it sucks big time trying to get those things dead perfectly straight. In contrast a round grip is ALWAYS installed perfectly straight.
I started using the round grip on my putter a couple months ago and can't see myself ever going back. The jumbomax STR8 Tech options are outstanding.
