I usually have my bags stocked with no more than 10 to 12 at any given time. Probably a carryover from when I used to walk a lot, and wanted to keep the weight down. I figure if I can't play 18 holes with that many, I'm in serious trouble...lol. Now if I'm going on a multi-day golf trip or something like that, I'll usually go ahead and put another 10 to 12 in to make sure I don't need to buy any while on the trip.

What I find is that the short irons play pretty similar across my multiple sets, but I see more differences in the long irons. Some of the long irons are easier to hit than others.

Yes, I have 8 full sets (and a 3-5-7-9-SW half set) at the house, and probably use 4 or 5 of them regularly. I just enjoy trying out different clubs. Let's see....the ones I dont use as often are (1) Wilson Staff circa 1980 (2) Tommy Armour 845s (3) Hogan Apex perimeter weighted....the ones that see more action (4) PXG 0311 Gen2 (5) Mizuno MP68 (6) Ping S56 (7) Macgregor Muirfield 20th (8) Nike Slingshot.......and the half set are Cleveland VAS the funny looking ones Pavin used back in the 90s. Plus assorted multiple drivers, 3woods and hybrids to go with. The differences are noticeable, some more than others.....but I enjoy it.

I have a left-handed Tour Special that I was given in roughly 1979, 80, or 81 I think....definitely was from early 80s. Hope this helps.
