  1. For the longest time I only would play Callaway or Mizuno. I had bias from fitters, local stores, and previous use. I was not a huge fan of taylormade or ping just for personal reasons. hiwever as I have taken golf more serious and entered local competitions I got fit again and ironically got fit into the new p790 irons, stealth 2 3 wood, and a ping 5 wood. I still can’t get rid of my callaway driver but regret not giving king or TM the chance before now. putter wise very biased to use scotty or odyssey. bad bias - have heard nightmare stories on PXG so tend to avoid.
  2. I joined because it was costing my family more money to go play every weekend versus paying monthly at the club we joined. My wife and two daughters both play and with the price increase form COVID it actually is quite a price saving. On top of that it has really gotten my kids to get into the game more giving them more availability to go daily and hit, or practice. Also a perk I love is Tee Times are not on top of each other like the public courses near me. I can play and not have to wait 10 minutes at every tee box or have people on top of me. All that mixed with the atmosphere, pools, etc really has made my family feel it was a great decision.
  3. I am ok with Music on the course, but should not be too loud. Recreational golf go for it. Anything competitive or for money, no music. Always ask the group if music is ok before the round and ask what types.
  4. When it is not 90 plus degrees out I prefer to walk. Now that being said if I am in a foursome, or skins match I will take a cart to make pace of place faster. However on week nights or if I am out with my kids when the course is not as busy I prefer to walk (with a push cart) I feel I play better and enjoy my time more. Not so much rushing around and feeling pressured to play fast. Again it all depends on how busy the club tee sheet is and format I am playing. Love the topic discussion!
  5. I have both a 3H and a 5W on average my 5W goes about 20-30 yards further. I find I like the hybrid more, because i can work it as a draw or fade, however the 5W I have really only one shot type with. Both are good off the tee though. For my setup I removed an "extra" wedge to make room to keep the 5 wood. In my area I find I use it more than having an extra wedge in the set.
