I appreciate the cooking thread already! And thank goodness this winter has been pretty mild (other than a stretch of -40c hahaha). Cheers! Ahhh, and I'm a relatively recent convert to golf. Tried it when I was much younger and never got into it, then picked it up again pre-COVID as a way to spend time with my dad, and been into it ever since! Looking forward to being part of the community Cheers! I think I'll only consider myself a Canadian once I've survived a few more winters and started to get into some of the winter sports up here. We were in Dawson a month or two back, super pretty part of the world, but seemed colder than Grande Prairie?!

Hey everyone, my name's Ian Sharland and I'm a new transplant to northern Alberta (Grande Prairie) from Johannesburg South Africa. This is my first North American winter, so I'm still getting used to the 6 months of garage and sim golf, and really looking forward to my first full season of golf here. When I'm not putting holes in my garage drywall (and practicing my drywall repairs haha), I work in infosec, stream on Twitch, write for my newly revived blog, and cook extremely tasty food - atleast, accordingly to those I feed, since I'm seldom satisfied with my food.
