  1. Down here in southwest Florida for 10 days. Played a fabulous Jack Nicklaus design, Old Corkscrew, located in Estero, FL. Great track, pricey, disappointed with slow green speeds, but course conditions were immaculate. It’s like winding through the Everglades while playing golf. Anyhow, I was able to navigate this course to a 77 with a double bogey on the last hole, played the white tees at 6200 yards. Target golf with tight driving lanes, and the Newton 4 dot was phenomenal for me. Mostly straight tight draws with a low boring ball flight and significant carry advantages(I’m 62 yrs old and drove a 290 yard par 4 with very little roll out). My swing speed is usually upper 90’s to low 100’s. I may not have swung the driver easier or smoother but it sure felt like it. On the longer par 4’s of 425 plus I routinely found myself with 8 iron or less into the greens. My driver is a 9* PXG Black Ops Tour1, turned down 1/2*. Love it. Great combo with this Newton 4 dot shaft. I might add that I switched my irons out over the winter from PXG to New Level 623MB’s with KBS Tour Lite shafts, and finding kind of an old school pure feel with those babies. Anyhow, that’s my most recent report on the Newton 4 dot shaft. Any day you make 5 birds is a good day, and yesterday was a lot of fun.
  2. On course with the Newton 4dot shaft in my PXG black ops 9* driver on a very windy day yesterday. Turned the club down to 8.5* and teed the ball down lower. Results were outstanding. Slight low draw on most shots with distance ranging from 260-290. Dispersion was improved vs. the Tensei AV Raw orange 55 shaft. My concern for shots heading left never happened. Maybe being on the course smoothed me out, I don’t know. Ball flight was lower than usual but piercing which was helpful. Very pleased after one round on the course. My putting…. That’s another subject .
  3. Hey everyone I'm a new guy here but I've been reading this entire thread with great interest. Awesome info shared by everyone. So I'm 62 yrs old fortunate to play golf 4 or 5 times a week here in Tennessee, either on the course or on my simulator in my garage. I currently play to a 4 handicap and game a PXG Black Ops Tour1 9* driver with a Tensei AV Raw orange 55 stiff shaft. It's a decent setup which is very low spin lower trajectory and I pump it out there about 250 or so. My swing speed tends to be around 103 or so on the sim with ball speed around 140. Always looking for more of an edge I've been intrigued by the Newton Motion shaft. So I pulled the trigger and my 4 dot arrived yesterday. I tend to be a smoother swinger and I was looking for tighter dispersion and maybe more distance. Well, after hitting 10 dozen balls on my sim with the Newton 4 dot installed, my swing speed is all of a sudden 105+ with ball speed over 147. All good right? But the spin factor is markedly higher ranging near 3000 at times which I don't like. Carry distance is nearing 260 and I've got dispersion more to the left than I'd like. I'm thinking I may need to swap into the 5 dot. I like the feel of the shot however better than the Tensei Raw AV orange which is saying something. I feel maybe more control and confidence. I'll be out on the course with it tomorrow and I'll pass on those results.
