  1. Augusta Club Membership with yearly fee paid for my lifetime and unlimited golf included
  2. I disagree about the school system being less oriented toward university here, but I do agree a tradesman earns more than almost any other profession based on study vs wage. I used to earn less than my tradesman after completing a MBBS degree. I had to finish a RACS degree in order to get "over him" hehehe. Only took me twelve years of college lol
  3. Have you planned to stay in Australia? Sydney and Melbourne offer awesome Golf experiences and you might get a little more bang for the buck ot paying for the overseas trip`(although with the OZ prices for everything these days we get better deals going somewhere else hehe)
  4. Hey Mate! Here from Sydney Cheers!!!
  5. I just got a headache after watching these...it is just too much
  6. Irons are spectacular, Fybrids are awesome clubs but Drivers just suck...let's hope it changes this year...
  7. I know its a subjective thing, but giving 100/100 on looks with that top line and comparing them to some of the clubs outthere I find it a little bit biased...
  8. In the other hand, there are golfers like me hehehe I reach most "normal" Par 5 in two shots, and drive constantly over 250yd, but then take like 8 shots to sink the ball and end up with a constant triple-bogey (well, not that terrible, but you get the idea). If I was to play from the Reds instead of the Whites, my score wouldn't change more than a stroke or two. So in my experience it really doesn't make a difference (for weekend players like me) to drive 30yds farther than the other people in my 4-some, because at the end the 275yd straight fairway drive counts as one stroke and so does the 2ft putt you missed...
  9. Lot of criticism for Cobra's last line of clubs, and it seems lime/orange/etc are the new black...
  10. I agree there is too much rant about "Oh, how TM lies to people" (even worse than "Oh, why TM releases a new driver every six months"). The specs are there. It is not TMs fault if people want to believe their game will improve with newer irons every 6 months. Now a days most brands do the same thing, even the more "traditional" ones. Its simple, just get rid of the 4-iron and get a gap wedge instead, that will solve your problems
  11. I hope it is a new driver! I've been waiting to get my hands into an RBZ and nothing kills down the price of used drivers as a new release for the same item!
  12. The problem with too much practice in the range is it really never prepares you for real life situations, and hitting from those funny matts makes you think you really know how to hit and then hit everything fat on the field hehehe If you are changing your swing I agree it is worth doing so, but if you just want to have fun, the course will always be much better choice.

    McIlroy to Nike

Its funny because Mizuno is known world wide for its Volleyball and Judo equipment rather than its golf clubs for example and no one can say they are inferior to anything, but people just don't know about that. Nike is "new" to golf compared to other brands, but no other company can invest as much money on golf as Nike. Saying Nike clubs can't compare to Titleist or TM is absurd. Yes, they look awful and the graphic designers should be shot one by one, but performance wise, they are just as good as any "big" brand in golf

    McIlroy to Nike

Since Tiger, Nike has given this image of "New Golf" opposed to classic golf, of defying, No Fear attitudes, etc. Titleist in the other hand has tried to keep the image of "sophisticated classic golfing". I don't oppose any of both, and I think Rory being a young aggressive player might be a good choice for Nike to sponsor, but I would prefer him to stay with his smooth swing rather than Swoosh Swing...
  15. ITs funny how no one believed in the Euro team this year...
  16. When I started golfing (not too long ago, about 5 years or so) I knew nothing about Wilson Staff and there was no option for me to find anything from W/S in Australia. Due to forum reading I started to get curious about it. When I decided to buy my first set of new irons (I had a set of used TM RACs and then some used S9 cobras) I went to the U.S. and found a set of new W/S Ci7s for $300 new. I was a little hesitant but I decided to pull the trigger and I have never felt I made a better purchase in my life bang per buck. I started getting curious about their clubs and ended up buying a Fybrid Bridge (which I love and came with teh V2 shaft I love), and an 4H Fybrid for around $50 each NEW which have been some of the best clubs I've tested ever. Today I still game every Wilson club I have bought and have had a hard time replacing them (Just waiting for some V2s to lower their price hehehe). Its funny how people look down at you when they see the big "Wilson Staff" logo on your bag. It seems if you play something NOT TM or Callaway you are treated to start with as either a cheap golfer or an ignorant one. I've been asked more than once why don't I "upgrade" to a "serious" brand since I am a decent (let's never say "good") golfer. Overall, I think Wilson Staff clubs are great clubs with absolute wonderful performance but a very poor Advertisement Team behind them. As well, unfortunately, people will always hesitate on paying "less" for something, since some believe if their irons are not worth over $1000, they are not worth trying
  17. I'm pretty sure if you can build an S65 AMG you have the tech to build some golf clubs hehehe. I'm pretty sure Mercedes would have partnered with some golf company (remained undisclosed) in order to build up their clubs. I guess its difficult so judge if something works before actually trying it...
  18. I think your chivalric point of view is amazing but I wouldn't mind the site or you accepting big OEMs sponsorship. At the end, why not? We all know you won't sell your soul to any brand, and if through the way the OEM is disappointed because they don't get a 99% on their clubs, then they will just retire and stop sponsoring that is all... I'm sure your working ethics wouldn't change, and you do deserve to make some money from your effort On the other side, there seems to be this "Hipster Attitude" towards golf equipment these days, where you have to like every small company and tell everybody how better they are from big OEMs. If you buy a Taylormade RBZ or any NEW Big OEM driver then you "sold your soul" and you are an idiot who has been fooled by marketing. This seems to be the same attitude the reader who wrote the letter is taking. SO just don't pay any attention to this guy...
  19. Taylormade is a brand, and as any other company, they want to sell and sell big. Why wouldn't they release a new driver every six months when they know thousands of hackers will wait in line to buy it? Do any of you really think they should "help you" by not releasing a new driver twice a year? As RookieBlue pointed out, its your responsibility if you find the need to upgrade your driver every time TM brings a new line, not theirs. And in the other hand, why criticize people who actually do buy them? If I had the money I would change my driver every year, because I love having new stuff, not because I think it would give me 20 more yards. Anyway its their money and I guess they can use it however they want to...
  20. Well, I guess "Els going on his way out" is out of the question now after the Open?
  21. Funny, because I do find them spectacular...
  22. For over $300 changing the optics of an Oakley's plutonite lenses (where you know the lenses material, the covering factor, the optic accuracy, and the fact there are enough class-A studies to support the specific lenses usage) for a "Maui Lenses" material would be very unfortunate...
  23. I play a Nike Driver. It looks hideous (Dymo2), sounds horrible, but performs... I have never ever paid the least attention to what brand of clubs I play. My bag is a tutti-frutty of brands and I'm proud of it hehehe
  24. The driver is a good choice due to the long arm which translates into more speed which equals a bigger striking force (F=ma and due to the at least 44in arm where torque=dw), and you would never be in the burglar's reach!
