I would say that TW was good for the game. I'm not sure it's fair to put "the game" on his shoulders. I would agree that introducing clubs so rapidly was not a good policy and anyone could see the results of that policy still being felt today. And let's be honest, if anyone can capitalize off a trend they will... do the housing market is its own mess... there is a lot of blame to go around on that topic, certainly of which golf should be a minor culprit?! I think for the vast majority of his career TW was the needle and brought many positive changes to the game but he was not perfect... he was simply a guy who played golf extremely well! I hit the 765's but to be honest, I felt like that they were equivalent to my Taylormade CB's... in distance, playability, trajectory etc... I really liked the way they looked but didn't feel like I needed to spend $1100 for shiny new clubs?! I found the Bridgestone J15CB to be a better fit for me. I recently got in the market for a new set of irons. As I had started with the usual suspects, I progressed through the not so common clubs. Much to my surprise I hit a club without looking at the brand, and was very surprised to find out who after I hit it several times: BRIDGESTONE! I then waited until after the PGA Merchandise show in Orlando just to satisfy my curiosity that I wasn't missing something awesome coming out. I called the company to order my clubs and discovered that they were not in production anymore?! That particular line was being discontinued and that I would have to find them at a secondary source. Sandy Pond - 9 hole in Riverhead, NY. It's basically a par 3 course but it does possess elevation change and slope! There is also water that comes into play and some of the worst sand traps known to many... The best part is that the course is usually run on the honor code!
