  2. Depends on what days of the week you are there. You can play Gulliane and Murfield with enough notice. Or take the train to Leuchars, and taxi to St. Andrews if you're on a budget. Was lucky enough to get on the Old Course. Played the 18th hole in near darkness around 10 PM. Was nice, but I need to go back. Worst part about the Old Course is it's a death march. Yes, it's an amazing round and you'll love every second. But there are so many groups...it can be very slow. Also consider going to Gleneagles. Not the far by train, another bucket list track.

  5. I always try to play a ProV1, what a grew up with, what I'm used to. That being said, I don't mind the Amazon deals on the Z-Star or the '16 Tour Preferred. Basically any soft tour ball I'm happy.
  6. Ive been a Titleist fan boy for the last 5 years. Everytime a new driver comes out, I'm definitely bias. That being said, with TaylorMade seemingly coming back down to earth from the 6 month cycle of 5 years ago, I honestly think I'll give them a shot. It's the most played driver on tour, might as well see what the hype is about.
  7. Considering how well T-Dubs was playing, it's no shock he's comeback down to earth in the 2nd round. Just not playing well today, it happens. Just don't shocked when he takes the lead tomorrow and is in the final pairing on Sunday
  8. Anybody got the inside scoop (and/or pics) for these? Look like the next model of the strapped TW's from '17. Not my cup of tea, would only wear with pants if I had a gun to my head haha.
  9. Dunno if GPS on a plane is against regulations. I've read that some devices "turn off" by sensing when the plane is taking off and "wake up" when it lands. The industry (golf & airline) should develop something that provides some relief during this anxiety inducing process. I've never lost my clubs (or a bag for that matter..knock on wood) but when you're checking a bag that essentially is worth $2,500, you want some insurance. I don't use UPS/FedEx/ShipSticks b/c I'm flying from another place in which I need my clubs. Biggest problem with ShipSticks is the time in which you are without your clubs. It's like a catch22 - I want my clubs to be safe and in my hands, but also dont want them to fly on an airplane haha.
  10. Headed out to Bandon in a few weeks and was looking into getting a GPS for my bag while in flight. Anyone have any experience with these? Only horror story I have is AA breaking my driver shaft so now I take off the heads when I fly. I just don't want to lose my sticks before I play Bandon...that would suck haha. Don't worry, I'm not flying United either haha Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  11. Walk all day long. People complain about golf being too expensive. A walk on a muni shouldnt be more than $60 and on private courses it's "free" (included in the dues). Always walk.
  12. Fairways running 10 on the stimp doesn't help either.
  13. This is a whole big nothing burger. Yes, pros today hit it absurdly far. But I think this whole "roll back the ball" thing is getting more attention because everyone on Tour hits it a mile now. (I'm generalizing) In this post-Tiger era, all the best athletes are playing more golf. Therefore, whereas before 5 guys hit it 300+, now 50 of them do and everyone thinks it's a problem. I don't know about you, but I don't want to turn on Golf Channel and see DJ, JT, Rory, Tiger, etc hitting 250 yard drivers. I have the same opinion about home runs in MLB - the more the better. This is a non issue. And I'm sure all us amateurs don't want to play with a rolled back ball.
  14. Prolly the best Valspar field to date. Considering this tourney didn't have a title sponsor a couple years ago, this is huge for them and the TB community. But as we've seen at Torrey, Riv, and PGA National - when T-Dubs comes out...so do the crazies. I bet Speith and Stenson rolled their eyes when they saw their pairing for Thursday and Friday haha
