  1. I've played blades for almost 50 years other than a brief flirtation with Ping G-15's that lasted a couple months. In fact, I recently purchased a set of brand new custom blades for the 2020 season. But, I had buyer's remorse from the get go and they are just still in the box. I will be trading them into the PGA Super Store for whatever credit I can get. I've ordered a set of Cleveland Launchers. I frankly need the help. Kudos to you younger guys (and older) who continue to play blades. There is nothing more beautiful than a classic blade design or a better feeling golf shot. What's interesting is that the blade purist doesn't extend to putters. People are moving away from Ping Anser designs towards mallets and you never see a Tommy Armour ironmaster design or Bullseye design and haven't for decades. No one waxes poetically about the pureness of a putter design and how it makes their stroke better. Just food for thought.
  2. How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score? I've been playing for almost 50 years. I started in the persimmon and butter knife era. My current handicap is 11.6 What do you love about golf? I love the history of the game going back into the 19th century. I enjoy the challenge of pitting myself against the elements and against my own past successes/failures. Most of all, I love the calm and peace that goes along with a late evening round. I've tried to let go of the results and just enjoy the experience. What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies? I've subscribed to the email updates for quite a while and finally decided to sign up for the forum. I'm not sure if I know anyone or not yet. Where are you from? What is your home course? I'm from Joliet, IL and play out of Morris CC. 99% of my golf these days is late afternoon/evening solo 9 holes. I'm trying to walk more this year and hope some new orthotics do the trick. Golf should really be done via walking, but my feet have been too bad to do so the last few years. What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? The best thing is that you really look forward to playing after a long winter. The worst is the winter and wet srpings. What do you do for a living? I'm in sales and cover the Midwest via car. How’d you pick your user name? Probably a Seinfeld reference, that and my wife calls our chocolate lab Mr. Pennypacker.
