Titleist has introduced the GT Drivers and fairways, signifying Generational Technology, marking a significant shift in materials, construction, and performance from their previous TS models. Despite appearances suggesting minimal change, substantial advancements lie beneath the surface.

Titleist's goal was to enhance performance without altering the familiar look and feel. This approach ensures that players have a familiarity with their clubs year over year while hopefully experiencing performance gains. The GT models feature refined aerodynamics, with changes focused on the underside to reduce drag and increase speed, notably through the raised aft section.

Tony Covey and Chris Nickel have done full breakdowns and articles on both the drivers and fairway woods which can be found here drivers) and here (fairway woods). Here is a brief overview to whet your appetite.

The New GT Line

The introduction of Split Mass Construction redistributes weight to the driver’s perimeter, enhancing stability and optimizing performance. Additionally, the GT lineup incorporates a seamless thermoform composite crown, marking a departure from previous designs. This innovative crown integrates a Proprietary Matrix Polymer (PMP), improving acoustics and mimicking the sound of titanium.

The GT drivers emphasize lowering the center of gravity, promoting consistent spin rates and enhancing forgiveness. Titleist’s Speed Ring with Variable Face Thickness (VFT) face technology aims to boost speed across the face, catering to off-center hits.

Titleist offers three GT driver models models (GT2, GT3, GT4) and two GT fariway wodo models (GT2 and GT3)

Each model maintains a familiar look but with significant improvements in speed, consistency, and overall performance. Titleist's approach ensures that while much has evolved, the essence of the driver remains unchanged, catering to both average golfers and Tour pros. The new GT family embodies the philosophy of advancing technology without compromising the core attributes that define Titleist drivers.

The Testing Opportunity

We are searching for four golfers to test, review and keep a GT driver and fairway wood from Titleist. Testers will be fit through a Titleist certified fitter and will receive the clubs which they are fit for.

Titleist has made some bolder claims with this line, and the name indicates this is a big leap forward. So can it be true? We want to see how this new line performs in the hands of our members and everyday golfers.

First and foremost thanks again MGS for giving the community such a great opportunity.

My dream set would be whatever the wise and all-knowing Titleist fitter tells me to use (I am only an hour or so away from the performance in Mass so I would love to get a tour of the Pro-V1 factory and a fitting) best on the description and my inconsistency (I'm working on it I promise) though probably going to be both the GT2  Driver and Fairway.  The driver would probably be in 10 or 11 degrees I currently hit a 12-degree AI smoke but with some work this year and improvements and consistency in my set-up I am starting to get launch angles closer to 20 degrees consistently so it might be time to start moving down I loft to get back distance (If anyone has gone through this cycle tips are appreciated) with the Autoflex shaft for the fairway based on how I currently gap the 18 degrees with the AD IZ shaft (I don't think I could hit that soft auto flex off the deck

Just to throw some point to the fine folk at Titleist if I were given the chance you might convert my formerly all-Callaway bag to all Titleist as I just replaced my big berth irons with T350s (based mainly on the reviews here at MGS)

This is awesome! I got to attend a demo event and the GT line is killer, the 7 wood was going almost as far as my current 5 wood but way easier. I would love to test and see if the 3 wood performs better than my mini driver I think it might!

I have never owned a Titleist club so this would be an awesome opportunity to see what they play like compared to my experiences with Taylormade and Cobra.

Awesome opportunity! Congrats to those selected! Really surprised that the fitting tool suggested an XS shaft for me though.

Here's what I'd pick for myself:

I've never played Titleist, and I'm a defer to the fitter guy in most cases so I'd be really curious to see what the recipe would be.

Let's go Titleist!  I've been waiting for this driver to come out for a while now.  I currently have the Titleist TSi3 and have been hitting it well.  As I have some Men's $$ to spend I've been fitted for a bunch of other brands of drivers (Taylormade, Callaway, PXG), but nothing is getting me anything more in distance or accuracy.  So I've been waiting for the GT to come out.  This would be my dream opportunity to test!

Awesome opportunity and how good are these tests at the moment - great work team!

I did my driver recommendation and then built the fairway wood off that - would love to see them add a fairway wood recommendation into what they do for driver but these are pretty sexy looking clubs regardless.

Have just purchased a 2nd hand tsi3 in the past couple of weeks. Came from a mizuno stz-220 and i now know the reason people spend more money on titleist drivers, thing is awesome! Cant imagine what the gt would be like in comparison! Fingers crossed
