Approach was in the sand on #9, and rattled the pin... tapped in for the 2nd sandy. Back 9 was a little more back down to earth... 4 bogies with one birdie. My up and down game was used up on the front 9 evidently. BUT.. Feel REALLY good about my first match play round.

I just checked the weekly scores... and we even have rounds using the Match Play field that aren't in the 64 competitors haha I saw a -7... a -5... whoooo bring your A-Game to this tourney everyone!!

My round for Week 1 Match Play will be Sunday. I have a round scheduled tomorrow for my Men's Club, but they may be running a scramble format... so to be safe... Sunday is my round of record.

@fozcycle and @Fairwayguy2 Awesome job using the VCT Thread to post your Match Play Scores. I also see that you included a picture of your scorecard in your post... and selected the field in the template so we can grab your score!! One Problem however..... The Match Play doesn't actually start until tomorrow (I know this is confusing since the VCT Thread runs from Monday... sorry about that). So... I hope you both have more rounds planned starting tomorrow and through the next week to use. I am going to edit your posts above to remove the Match Play indicator... so it won't create confusion. Looking forward to seeing your post Sept 1 scores in the VCT and Match Play!! Tim.

Go to the Weekly Tournament Thread: Post your score there. Be sure to select "Use this score for Match Play" in the custom field at the end of the template. Also.. remember to include a picture of your scorecard in your post so we can calculate the hole by hole 2 person best ball score with your partner. GOOD LUCK!!

Week 1 Rounds can be played anytime between September 1 and September 10th. Week 1 - Sept 1 through Sept 10 (2 person best ball) Week 2 - Sept 11 through Sept 17 (2person best ball) Week 3 - Sept 18 through Sept 24 (2 person best ball) Week 4 - Sept 25 through Oct 1 (Individual - Divisional Playoffs) Week 5 - Oct 2 through Oct 8 (Individual - Match Play Championship Playoffs)

So does that mean you will be playing to a +10 into Match Play??

Each of the 64 players in the field have the ability to post the rounds in the VCT thread and use the 'Custom Field' to indicate which round should be used for the Match Play. It is up to each player to select the round. If there wasn't clarity before, hopefully that provides it I will be playing Saturday and Sunday for sure, and in our Club Championship the following weekend. So at least 4 opportunities to post a round in the Match Play. I just hope @Tom the Golf Nut is coming to play.. he may need to carry his Week 1 partners on his back haha. Remember guys, this is about the fun and comradery amongst our members - and a little friendly competition for bragging rights. In the end... the MGS Forum is the winner.

I agree on all counts. Honor System. Declare the round if possible. But Ultimately it is up to each of the players. My preference would be to use the first round of the week as the "Match Play" round... but impossible to manage from a Tourney Committee.. so just use our best judgement.

yes... plus one week for finals. Weeks 1-3, round robin 2 Person Best Ball matches inside your division, Week 4 Individual matches-Division playoffs. Week 5 individual matches -finals.

The first week, We'll start on September 1st and let it run through Sunday the following week. That gives everyone a few extra days (and another weekend) to get the rounds in. Try to post your score by the Monday following the weekend at the latest. Then after that... we will be on a Monday - Sunday schedule through the end.
