Evening everyone. I've lurked on the forums for a bit now and figured now is a good a time as any to say hello! How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score? -I've been playing off and on for about 10 years (talking like maybe playing 10 real times in that period). This year I'm finally taking it seriously and now have a tee time every Sunday with some friends and getting an established handicap. Currently sitting at 29.1, but hoping the consistent play this year will drop that down quickly! What do you love about golf? -There are 2 things I love about golf. 1 is being able to walk in some of the best landscapes IL has to offer. I know that's now saying much given how flat the Midwest is, but getting to spend a few hours walking around with a few buddies chasing that feeling of a perfectly struck ball is a great way to spend a morning. 2 is the mental aspect of the game. As a former D3 college athlete, having a sports outlet like this scratches that competitive itch, all while making me want to get better at this maddingly simple yet oh so hard game. Where are you from? What is your home course? -NW Chicago Suburbs, Home Course is Countryside Golf Club in Mundelein What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? -Best things: Chicagoland area has access to some of the best courses in the country, both locally and within a few hours drive. Worst thing- Short season, those winters come fast and linger around here. What do you do for a living? -Marketing and Customer research for an Industrial Supply Company How’d you pick your user name? -Koogs was my nickname given to me by several of my teammates in college football and rugby. The name stuck like glue, so it makes for an easy handle on my social platforms!
