  1. I believe he made an earlier post confused why a driver that was both longer and had better dispersion would have less strokes gained than another driver that was worse in both categories. But given the dispersion column is showing backspin and not dispersion, the strokes gained numbers not being aligned makes more sense now. I'm sure if you compared distance to strokes gained you'll be able to back your way into which drivers have the best dispersion.
  2. Looks like the dispersion column is just a copy of the backspin column?
  3. Yeah, I figured it'd be a long shot that you'd know that info. I just emailed (after calling) Monark Golf, where i'd be ordering the shaft + adapter + grip from, with all my specs and driver head weight and asked if they could recommend a grip that would be the weight needed to achieve a D1 swing weight. We'll see what they come back with.
  4. This is extremely helpful, thank you! My thought I guess would be to try to order the shaft with a heavier grip and then I can add weight to the head easier to bump up swing weight rather than bump down. Question for you if you don't mind... I found the following website that attempts to calculate swing weight based on component parts (https://www.hirekogolf.com/golf-club-building-swingweight-calculator). I can figure out all of the components except "Cut Shaft Balance Point". Do you have any idea what this would approximately be for the GPLB? I know you play yours at 45", so probably 43.5" or so cut shaft length, but I assume it would still be pretty close to the 44.5" cut length. Apologies for all the questions - I am just getting antsy to order this thing!
  5. I weighed my standard Gen4 head this morning and it was 193g. So given that the Gen5 is 2g heavier and you added 2.5g to it, the 5 gram difference seems to be spot on. I guess they must include the adapter as part of the weight online. As someone currently gaming the GLPB, would you have any recommendation on grip weight and driver length that would fit a setup with a head 5 grams lighter than yours to get the desired D0-D1 swingweight? I ordered a basic swing weight scale yesterday but have never worked on clubs in my life so would prefer to order the GLPB in as close to ideal specs as possible.
  6. What is your swing speed if you don't mind me asking? I'm at 95mph right now with my current gamer (60g Riptide CB stiff). I did order TheStack System last week with hopes of upping that to 100-105mph. I'm planning to order an A flex as that is two flexes lighter than my current driver, but wondering if I should really be buying the L flex.
  7. I had the same thought on the grip weight but was worried adding the weights there would end up weighing down the shaft and counteract one of the main principles of dropping the shaft weight. Thanks!
  8. That is interesting as you play the Gen 5, and I play the Gen 4 which is supposedly 2g lighter per the PXG website. My head came in the standard 2.5g x2 plus a 10g. I'll have to weigh it when I get home, as the website shows the Gen 5 to be 203g and yours is 198g. Thank you!
  9. I was reading through was is essentially an Otto Phlex thread on a different forum, and they mentioned how at 46” they needed to take all the weights out of their driver to get it down to a D1 swing weight. The problem being with the weights removed the smash factor plummeted. Has anyone here experienced this? Are there any lightweight driver heads out there that could work at 46” with a PLB without having to remove the weights?
  10. Hey Bobbers, I’m back home and was able to measure my driver. The driver measured 45.75” when measuring down along the inside of the hosel. The further towards the middle of the face at resting position I went it obviously added length. The shaft is 44 and 9/16th inches. The length from the butt to the beginning of the adapter was 42 and 7/8ths. Thank you!
  11. Thank you! Unfortunately I just left to go out of state for a wedding so I won’t have access to my driver until tommorow. I don’t mind going down to 45.5” if you think it would give better results with the weighting either. I’ll post these measurements tomorrow afternoon.
  12. Thank you, Bobbers! I really appreciate the help. I’m open to really any grip that would get the weighting of the club right. Right now I play a “PXG Z5 - standard” grip with +2 wrap. I only know this because that’s what my order spec sheet says and I am in no way married to that setup. Which is just to say if it needs to change then it’s no problem. I do plan on buying the 45g A flex as of now. My current swing speed is ~95mph but I just purchased TheStack and hoping to get into the low to mid 100’s by this season, which makes me think the A flex would be better than the L. I’ve attached a photo (hopefully it shows up) of the spec sheet for my current driver. The only change made is I’ve adjusted it from the 10.5 degree standard loft up to 12 degrees currently.
  13. I just joined the forum just for this topic. The first post is incredibly well done and loved all of the experiments since. As someone who has been looking into the Autoflex (but just can’t justify the price) and more recently the BGT Brava, this experiment really appeals to me. I am fully in and want to try it myself. I have found a site (link below) that carries the GPLB shaft with a PXG Gen 4 adapter (my current gamer). I’m hoping someone with club building knowledge could kindly help me buy the correct shaft length and grip that would lead to the desired D0-D1 swing weight. I am 6’4” so my current driver length is 46 inches and I would like to stay there if possible. My current driver is a standard 10.5 Gen 4 that I have lofted up to 12 degrees. Any help here will earn my eternal gratitude. Thank you!
