  1. Oh I see! I think that depends on which watch you have. Some have internal GPS and some don’t. My old Apple Watch did not have gps and the info came from the phone but with my new series 7 the GPS data is taken from the watch.
  2. I use my Apple Watch with golf shot. Your phone just needs to be within Bluetooth range, you have 40-50feet of leeway. My phone stays on my cart and my yardages are displayed on the watch. Golf shot also tracks swing parameters through the Apple Watch. hope this help! cheers, Travis

Date 07/23/2023 Course Name Roundel Glen Golf Course Gross Score 87 Course Handicap 12 Gross Strokes over/under par 15 Net Score to Par 3 Net Score 75 Net Birdies or better 4 Longest Drive 280 Special Event Round two of the Club Championship. Definitely was much more relaxed. 40 on the front +4 after a 50 the day before made it all worth it. It was really hot and my mental game got shaky for the home stretch but overall was a great day! Can’t wait to hit the course tomorrow!

Definitely experienced some growth in competition. A lot of positives although the score didn’t show it.
  5. I agree, I used the phone for a season with the Arccos app. Had to keep your phone in your pocket while shooting, which wasn’t an issue. I started to use the watch with Golf Shot to record swing data. It’s actually turning out to be quite useful. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Hello!! I have been using a set of Srixon ZX7 irons for the past few months and I am totally in love with them! I was playing TM P7MC before them, and as amazing as they were when you flushed them, any imperfections in your swing where punished by no distance and unpredictable spin. So the ZX7’s I’m playing have Nippon shafts, and I have installed Superstroke oversized grips.I find them very forgiving especially on fat shots. The taper on the sole is not just for good looks! I find them very accurate distance wise. I don’t get any hot ones like the PXG that add an extra 40 yards every 5 shots! Lol I liked them so much I purchased a Srixon ZX 3 and 5 wood and I can not imagine every playing without them. The woods and irons seem to fit my swing perfectly. I couldn’t be happier! 7. I am an avid walker, I find myself more immersed in the golf course and the walk between shots gives time to process the last shot and plan for the next one. Also the golf extra cost of a power cart for someone who plays almost daily can be very high. I use a 4 wheel cart, I absolutely love it. I feel like I’m more prepared when I am waking. I plan ahead better to ensure proper attire and properly stock my golf bag before leaving the house. I’m not sure why I throw planning out the window if I know I’m riding! Lol I recommend walking just for the extra intimacy with the course but however you do it make sure you’re having fun!! Cheers, Travis Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I wear my 45mm Apple Watch every time I golf and I love it. I use the Golfshot app and it works great. I do avoid my heavy metal watch band it tends to make my hands a bit late but otherwise the face of my watch is the same position as the face of the club so it’s definitely a useful feeling! happy golfing!!

Putting wasn’t great but had a great time and made some amazing shots! Lipped out for eagle from 125 yards! Definitely throwing some darts today! Lol

  13. Hello! Millwright of golf here! I’ve been using the golf shot app for about 3 months now. Last season I used the Arccos app because I bought a Cobra driver that came with the entire Arccos setup. The $255/ year scared me off this year. Anyway, I am enjoying the Golf shot app. I have an Apple Watch Series 3 so the swing ID really kills the battery fast. I usually only get about 9 holes out of my watch before it’s dead. The swing ID information is hard to dissect, I don’t really understand what it tells me! Lol I’ll post some photos to illustrate what I mean. Overall I find the yardages very accurate, and score keeping is much simpler than Arccos but there isn’t any way to record penalty strokes. Which as much as we don’t like them. When I post a 10 on a hole but have 4 penalty strokes it messes with the statistics. I would recommend backing up this app with a range finder, especially when slope is involved. It doesn’t account well for changes in elevation. Overall I am very satisfied with the app and definitely recommend trying it if you are in the market. Cheers, Millwrightofgolf
  14. I purchased the Ping Floki putter at the end of last season. I had the winter to hone my skill on the putting mat but wasn’t sure if all my practice and preparation would translate on the real Greens. I had one or two rounds at the end of the season to try it out. I was using a TaylorMade Ghost Spider Mallet before and was doing okay but I was very inconsistent with the weight of my putts. The Spider was very light compared to the Ping, at least in my hands. In those two rounds I was really enjoying the feel of the Ping putter it is very buttery and smooth the stoke. But I didn’t have any feel for distance …yet! Lol So far this season I can happily sporting a 1.71 putting average with very minimal three putts. Usually from a lapse in concentration once every couple rounds. The putter has an adjustable shaft which can go from 32” to 36” by simply using the supplied tool. Put the tool into the hole in the top of the grip and tighten to shorted or looses to lengthen. I use it at “32. I installed a Superstroke Tour 5.0 grip and to be safe I did look up how to change these grips because there is a plastic sleeve the grip goes onto that. Special care has to be taken when removing the old grip. When cutting off the grip you have to ensure you only cut the grip. There is a photo attached showing the plastic sleeve sticking out of the bottom of the grip about 1/8 of an inch. I believe the confidence that I have gained through practice and really enjoying putting with this club has made me look forward to every time I get to have the putter in my hands. It is especially accurate on fast greens. I give this putter 5stars *****! Play Well my friends! @millwrightofgolf

Date 05/27/2023 Course Name Roundel Glen Golf Course Gross Score 94 Course Handicap 10 Gross Strokes over/under par 22 Net Score to Par 12 Net Score 84 Net Birdies or better 0 Longest Drive 303 This round was qualifying for a local golf team. Played fairly well, had a couple lost balls that really cost me strokes. Learned not to try and aggressively fly the ball into the green when the ball is below my feet…I lost 8-10 strokes hitting thin shots into the woods behind the green. Lesson learned, last try next weekend!
