  1. It depends why you are getting bad results. I am a high handicapper (19) but naturally quite strong so have a very robust transition. When I started, I had a cheap package set which really did not help as the face of the club was all over the place, even on comparatively consistent swings due to the flexibility in the shaft. Got a little help from a teaching pro friend who recommended going to a stiff shaft. Instantly dropped handicap from around 30 to low 20s. Had a few lessons now and now my swing is much better, I got fitted into a Modus 3 stiff in my irons and a hzrdous black for woods, but crucially I needed the 120g shafts rather than the lighter stiff shafts due to my tendency to transition very quickly. Fully recommend getting a couple of lessons first and get you settled on your swing then go for the fitting.
  2. I have the last UW in 21 degrees. It is ugly as sin, but I give it a pass as it is unbelievably good in terms of forgiveness and workability. I'm not really a hybrid guy, so getting this was a good comprimise as I didn't want a high flying 7w, but needed something easier than a long iron for that 210yd mark. It really fits in that gap perfectly. 100% worth going and giving it a go, it will surprise you!
  3. I went for a fitting a few months back. I currently game the TSi2 which is by far the best driver I have ever played. Got fitted into that HZRDOUS gen 4 black, its a truly incredible shaft isn't it? I personally found the TSR3 a little bit too difficult to hit and didn't get any benefit from the TSR2 vs the TSi. The shaft on the other hand, it dropped my spin from my previous oban shaft from 2800 to around 2100 and somehow increased clubspeed with less effort. Ended up just buying the shaft and put it in my TSI2. The TSRs are certainly a step up in terms of looks though
  4. I used to be super spinny (nowhere near 7k though) with my driver until I got a bunch of lessons. What helped me was start by teeing a bit higher and take half shots. Wide stance, lean right, bring your right shoulder back a bit then swing half and feel like you are trying to hook the ball to all hell. This should help the feeling as coming from the inside which makes it significantly less likely that you are going to come down on it. You can also, as someone said above, keep your feet closed. This will make it easier to come from the inside and slowing everything down will make it more obvious through feel where the club is travelling. Best bet, get a good instructor. They will be able to fix it in a lesson or 2, you will just need to commit to your new swing. 110mph should be carrying around 260-270 with good launch conditions.
  5. Hi guys, New to the forum as well as the OP. I'm a 19 Handicapper and swing my driver around 103-105mph I tend to be a bit "fluid" with my bag, can't turn down a bargain on shiny "new" clubs (love an eBay bargain). My current bag has been relatively static for a few months now and I had a lot of lessons over winter and my handicap is steadily dropping, although i'm getting fitted for a new driver tonight so we will see! Driver - Titleist TSi2 shafted with Oban devotion, although had a Fujikura Motore F1 in X flex before which I loved and broke at my last range session 5w - Sim2 5w with Hzrdous blue 7w - Callaway UW in 21 degrees with Hzrdous black rdx 3i - Mizuno Fli Hi (new one) in 19 degrees with Project X Steel Shaft 4i-PW Mizuno MP20 HMBs with Shamada tour mid shafts 51, 56 - Mizuno S18 with DG S300 - Honestly tried newer wedges but keep coming back to these 60 - Cleveland 588 RTX - Collects dust, use it once every 3-4 rounds. Normally take it out to make room for the 3i P - Evnroll ER2 Ball: Currently kirkland v2 but find them a bit spinny.
