  1. I’m about to buy a set of the Minzuno Pro 245’s but I think the Minzuno Pro 241’s looking amazing!
  2. Originally I imagined I’d be playing the Minzuno RB Tour X. Our Club Pro seemed to be guiding me towards using it, due to its higher compression and likely because he uses a majority of Minzuno gear himself. I took the RB Tour X out for a few rounds, but found that I didn't have a good feel for it with the irons, particularly my mid irons. After sifting through the MGS 2023 ball review, I’d decided to give the Titleist Pro V1x Left Dash a Spin. Loved it. The distance gaps between my woods and irons stepped down very nicely, and felt more true. Still had some feel around the green and was still able to shape the shot a bit. Which I didn’t expect. All this to say, my ball this year has to be Titleist Pro V1x Left dash!! Well worth the extra few bucks.
  3. Doesn’t get much better for me than Balvenie!
  4. Would have loved to play a winter or two in Puerto Rico!! One of my Indy teammates was Puerto Rican and he spoke very highly of winter ball there.
  5. Baseball was also top of the list for me as well, but the “baseball problem” that I alluded to was the high school coach who “convinced” me that if I was serious about baseball, then I needed to lay off golf. He’d said the golf and baseball swings, though similar, couldn’t coexist, and that I’d have to choose. I ended up playing D1 baseball, and several years in Indy Ball before journeying over to Germany. I also finally spit the bit so to speak and stopped playing baseball competitively around 36. My ol’ catcher bones had a small part to play in that decision haha.
  6. Hey fellow Golfspies! I’m Jon from Texas, but I’ve been living abroad in Germany for the last 14 years now. I started playing golf from a young age, but I developed a Baseball problem and Golf took a back seat from about 16 years old, up until about 2.5 years ago. Never worried about a handicap until these last couple years, started in the 30’s and have worked it down to an 8.1 I love golf for the people you meet and the relationships you can build while navigating your way around 18 holes. Part of the allure is no matter how good you become, you can always improve. I came to MGS fairly recently, I believe the golf ball test was the net that reeled me in. I have been living in Bonn, Germany for the last 14 years, initially came over here to play baseball, toward the end of the baseball career I started a business here, sold the business after 10 years, and now I’m starting an apprenticeship to become a fully qualified PGA teaching professional. Looking forward to diving more into the forums here and meeting you all!
