  1. Since most everyone else hit the communication, I will hit the other part, budget for it. Having a pot of money dedicated to play keeps a lot of self inflicted guilt or stress out of it. I didn't play for about 8 years after my first child was born, some of it was I was really into fly fishing (still am just a little less these days), some of it was the budget just didn't allow for much of it. I wish I had been better at budgeting back then, maybe I would have played a bit more. I have learned to put things like this in a 50-80/month type pot, so on the off season I build a good amount to use during the season. Kids are down right expensive and they always come first. There are wonderful amazing experiences coming and I wouldn't trade a second of it for any round of golf though. Congrats and good luck.
  2. I do have a Bushnell launch pro which I love. I wish it had strike position but that's easy to get with some stickers or foot powder. Being in Montana the Sim I built extends or short 5-6 month season to all year. Hoping to keep the rust away. Also for the first time ever I know my carry distances not total. I think this may change my thought process on course a lot. Getting feedback on swing changes is also great. Since a lot of golfers suffer from swing path problems, this is a great tool to use to work on that. Overall best thing I have done for my game.
  3. I have tried several last year. I bought the Samsung golf watch, the default app Smart Caddie on that is not good, I tried golf buddy for a bit and we did not get along, finally settled on Golf Pad. Stats are good, seems to work well. Going on my 3rd year with and and happy. I was just playing with Smart Caddie to remember the name and see a bunch of feature updates. Maybe will give that a shot again this year. I belive golf pad is either 29.99 or 39.99 so a good price to. Will link up with golf club tags, keeps track of stats including shots gained, etc. Try it out.
  4. Golf pad on my Samsung golf watch and a leuepold range finder. GPS is sometimes off, added the range finder this year.
  5. Cobra LTDX are on sale now for 249, from the testing I have seen they still hold their own against all the new drivers. I am swinging the LS at 94-99mph. Works well for me. Seeing 235 carry 250 roll out. Brother swinging 108, same thing big gains over his PXG Gen 4. Just a thought, its been noted as a unicorn driver in a review or two, saves you 250 dollars, you could buy 2 for price of one and still have a round of golf in your pocket.
  6. Current setup Gap and pitching wedge pxg 0211 xcore2 matching irons Sand 56 sm9 m grind Vokey, new this winter, replaced Kirkland wedge Still a Kirkland 60, but looking to maybe replace it this year. They spin well but aren't the most workable.
