  1. Last time I was in SJ I was getting tattooed, seems to be the thing every time I go there
  2. congratulations to the amazing testers! Thank you for taking the time to write such thoughtful things about yourselves, and looking forward to the results you all can let us know about
  3. I mean in all reality, after watching this whole weekend and squeezing in a pretty slow Super Bowl… is this the tournament that’s supposed to be rivaling what LIV is? I don’t know if y’all saw the hole in one with blasted music but I guess it’s still a “newer” type of golf style.
  4. I just want to see Joel have as much fun as he did last year
  5. Sounds your brother and I have the same issue
  6. Hey all! It’s been awesome seeing the community on MGS, where are my NorCal peeps at? Looking for some guys or gals to hit around Sacramento.
  7. I appreciate this. I recently hopped into golf 4 years ago and sometimes I get a little drowned in the flashy commercials and pro guys that use this or that. At some point I really feel almost all of them could essentially be somewhat similar.
  8. I’ll have to check those out. Thank you so much for your reply!
  9. Good Morning (or Afternoon)! I’m going to start and be honest, I might be a Brand Ho. I originally got everything Taylormade from my first set of golf clubs that was handed down to me and now I’m ready to make the jump into a new set of irons. i currently sit at a 10-12 handi and trying to take golf a lot more seriously. I’ve swung the p790’s and was indifferent, but also because I could only try them in standard length while I need an inch longer shaft because I’m a little taller. For any of the taller guys I now understand the pain lol. I know fitting will ultimately be the true knowledge of all, but anything else people have been trying and liking lately I would love to know!
  10. I can’t say that buying the newest driver is going to make anything better, but I’m also not a nerd with drivers. I think when you really boil it down, it’s all a matter of opinion how technology has moved forward. Take the Qi10 from Taylor made for example; same rough design as a blend between a Sim2 and a Stealth, new tech on it is the 10k inertia to help keep balls from slicing and dicing, and the best part of all, they put a blue carbon face instead of a red one (in my opinion best change ever lol). I guess I can also say the same with Cobra. I got my buddy’s king radspeed to try out for a couple months and loved that, and would honestly mess around and still hit it to this day. GREAT driver but old tech, still works amazing. When it really boils down to it, majority of us aren’t going to see the biggest difference unless you do the research and take the stats on every golf shot. And what I can say is, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” play with what you love and change when you’re ready to change. Im also stuck in the boat of whether to get a new driver or not, and I do like Taylormade so I guess I’ll be ponying up that $600
  11. May his songs always be on speakers around the world, legend of a guy.
  12. Hey, in CA there’s a sunshine tax if you’re willing to pay it! I guess it’s the price of year round golf lol
  13. Might as well take a swing at this (quite literally). I’ve been looking to upgrade my clubs recently so got to try a few out. Started out with irons and getting into Drivers now. I’ve had an old TM R11 in the bag until it cracked and have borrowed my buddy’s King Radspeed for the past year and loved it. Getting into drivers was my next gig, but also favorite since my previous life in baseball only taught me to swing hard. I’ve had a love for golf after baseball so now I’m taking my competitive spirit into Golf! I had a small stint of dreaming to be a long driver but never went through with it. My buddies and I would hit the range and see if we could break 190 ball speed but always seemed to slice it out the driving range (sorry cars on freeway!) I know the path to being a tester takes time and commitment, so if I get selected I am beyond honored and happy to be a part of this community, but I’m also excited to dig more into the forums and find some new ways to enjoy Golf more. And hey, who knows.. maybe my long drive dream may come true one day too! PS. Here’s some photos from 2023. And also got to tour Pebble while we were out for a wedding and my old man had his first hole in one! IMG_4218.mov IMG_3520.mov
  14. Hi there everyone! My name is Josh and i actually discovered this forum on instagram! I've been turned to golfing ever since I ended my baseball career, and have fallen in love with the sport and the community behind it. How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score? I've been golfing since 2019. Normal score is around 81 to 85 and sit around an 11 to 12 handicap. What do you love about golf? Funny story, my dad actually convinced me at a young age that he was Tiger Woods. I used to watch the Masters and Open on TV while he was there next to me, didn't learn to later on he was lying lol. Ever since then I was hooked, watching Tiger play throughout my childhood. I love the social aspect of golf, and it provides a competitive spirit in me that I had while playing baseball. What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies? I actually found this on instagram through the Kirkland iron review. I've been looking to get fitted for a new set. No other spies known... for now. Where are you from? What is your home course? I reside in Sacramento, CA. My favorite course to play right now is Timber Creek in Roseville. What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? Best thing is that we can play year round. Thankfully we are blessed with a short rain season during winter so there's always a time to play! What do you do for a living? I work in mortgage and appliance sales. How’d you pick your user name? It was a name given to me during my baseball days. Looking forward to being a part of the community!
