  1. Yeah their Junior Academy is very cost effective (like $40 for 8 weeks), probably 30-40 coaches each week just to help kids learn basic fundamentals. It’s a full 18hole course and each hole has a Junior tee that is 80-200 yards out from the green so they can learn to play a round of golf and not have as much pressure. Then a couple years back the course finally completed their junior course which is just a three hole track that kids can just keep doing laps on all day if they want for just $5, they just know how to foster the love of the game there.
  2. Went golfing with a friend of mine a couple weeks back and we got paired with a couple random guys that we got paired with months ago. It’s hilarious and like catching up with an old friend you haven’t seen in ages. Little things like this make me happy.
  3. These are the good times jbern! Legos and golf for me and my sons today.
  4. Good Morning Spies, Get to do one of my favourite things today!! Golfing with my sons!! There’s a course by where we live (Collicutt Siding in Crossfield, AB) that has a fantastic kids program and a little three hole course for juniors to play only, no pressure from adults behind them and they learn to enjoy the game at their pace on their their time. I get to walk the course with them (no adults allowed to golf) and get to just enjoy them finding fun in golf. Hot dogs at the turn for the win as per usual! Gonna be a great day spies!
  5. Pics as promised. Feel like it will be in my bag for a long time to come.
  6. Question for buying preowned preference , do you intend to swap out grips before you take it out?
  7. I recently put a Cleveland Golf Huntington Beach Soft Premier #8 (Blade style putter) into my bag, it replaced my old faithful Adams Redhead putter that is about 18 years old. I’m a more budget conscious golfer and the Cleveland came in at $180 CDN. 35”, single bend, oversize grip, black on black on black finishing… its name on the course is Vader and it’s awesome, you could say that my golf bag is now “fully operational”. Average round I’m probably a two putter (about 22 handicap), this putter feels quite heavy compared to my old putter which I quite like and has an extended back which has a slightly longer alignment line, overall I’ve dropped more putts per round than I have in a long time. I’ve used all kinds of top end putters and none have given me the consistency that this one has, dollar for dollar, it’s well worth it! Pics will be posted shortly.
  8. Second hand golf balls, just like every piece of golf equipment has a time, place, and user in mind. I have young twin boys that are just getting in to golf and dropping $50 on a dozen balls for each of them is a hard pill to swallow. Seeing someone selling a milk crate of used balls for $20… these boys will have more fun than anything with them!! Taking the stress away from them of worrying about expensive equipment and value of what’s in their bags helps them enjoy the game more, if they duff a $0.25 golf ball in to the woods it’s no big deal cause they know there’s 200 more in the garage. Being able to get them to enjoy the game playing second hand clubs and second hand balls is a joy. All that being said… I’m not playing a second hand ball… but if I’m OB and I see your ProV1 sitting there, my boys say thanks .
  9. Can I just say as a golfer, when you’re expecting something, coming home and seeing a thin 36”-48” box leaned up against the door is such a rush. Tell the family I’m busy cause I have a date with the range or putting green. Last Monday I was the guy in the 1st green of the round peeling off the plastic like a golf degenerate and the other two random guys we got paired with were instantly invested in on being a part of the maiden roll of a new putter!! New equipment is such a fun part of golf culture.
  10. Javs- peaked my curiosity… what are you looking at replacing with this now? Always curious about the high ticket value equipment and it making a difference in your game. Even if the high spec brings you increased confidence whenever you’re over the ball!!
  11. I’ve been playing an Adams Redhead putter for about 16 years but unfortunately the time has come for my old friend to be replaced. I’m more budget conscious when it comes to my equipment and have a Cleveland Huntington Beach #8 Premier on order now… should arrive any day (hopefully cause I have a tee time on Tuesday).
  12. Watching my sons play some of there VR games is wild! The visuals, the accuracy of the motion capture, and the instant feedback is something I never really thought would be easily accessible in my living room. I can imagine that the Golf+ experience would be something else, curious how it compares to your real life swing and feedback?… gonna be following this test for sure!!
  13. Love SIM golf, is it accurate, no, can it be better, yes, it’s putting atrocious… absolutely! But living in Canada where my golf season is only 6 months long SIM golf is a big part of my golf life. Plus it gets us out with our friends for a nice causal round of fun getting to “see some courses we’d otherwise never get to play”. Some of the places we have in town have some pretty wild tech from Korea as well that get you way more feedback on your swing that a simple session at the range would provide, you can learn a lot about your consistent metrics and where you may need to improve.
