  1. Congrats! I'm looking forward to hearing how these wedges perform!
  2. This morning I hopped on the simulator to work on two things: 1. Wedge control: I played a quick round yesterday and had a lot of shots at the 100-130 mark. I was consistently just pulling those shots, I could feel my shoulders coming way around and my body starting to lean back as I pulled the club face to the left. So I focused this morning on keeping the left hip stable (avoiding any potential swaying) and then holding the club face inside on the downswing to avoid over-rotating on it. I had to slow down initially, but it was good progress. 2. Ball Flight Control: I pulled the 7 iron and tried approaching the same 175 mark from the left, from the right, and straight on. It was a mixed bag, but I found that if I keep that lead hip more stable and then opening or closing my stance slightly helped me get that level of control I was looking for. Probably still not course ready, but encouraging progress!
  3. Haha just my bag - the one you said sounds like a big budget. Felt like I got decent deals at each step along the way to putting that thing together.
  4. I went a slightly cheaper build (ignore my father in law "testing" it out) - I spent about 250$ on the Spornia spg7 net, 70$ on the mat and then just under 500$ on the Garmin R10 approach. I've easily used this thing upwards of 100 hours and it's been great for just getting an idea for what's going on with my swing (face to path angle, launch angle, etc.). I also got some of the Pro V1 RTC golf balls that improve the tracking accuracy with the R10 - I won those off a buddy in a bet over a round of golf
  5. Hey folks! Coming to you live from Ferndale, WA. I picked up golf during the pandemic and just haven't been able to stop. I'm an 8-10 handicap (I don't have an official GHIN handicap yet) and I usually aim to shoot in the low 80s - breaking 80 on occasion. I love the grind, I got a Garmin Approach R10 about 2 years ago and I've logged so many hours on that thing that I've cracked a driver and busted up my 8 iron trying to figure out my swing. I've been a lurker on MGS for a while - it's been my go to source for getting reviews on new equipment that I've inevitably needed during my journey. My current set is the PXG 0211 irons and SW, a Vokey GW, the PXG 0311 fairway wood, and a Callaway Rogue MAX ST LS driver. I don't have a home course necessarily - I like being a budget golfer so I follow the deals to Loomis, North Bellingham, Shuksan, Lake Padden, and Sudden Valley (or all the way down to Avalon for a free birthday round). I love that you can play golf virtually year round up here, but when we get a little too much snow and all the courses play temporary greens I get maybe a little too bent out of shape about it. I work remotely for a Software company as a developer - which can typically make it a little easier to get out on a weekday. Cheers!
  6. Congrats! I just broke my 0211 8 iron so looking forward to hearing what my potential replacement might be like
