I just need to learn to get the coloring a little more even. A couple places that don't look even bit still a fun first go.

Ok thanks that doesn't sound too bad. I will hopefully get those few things soon so I can finish this thing up.

I have an old Taylormade Fontana sport-7. There was enough pull with the magnet that I could hold the putter upside down and it didn't fall off so I guess it's carbon.

@xstiffshafts I want to get my putter darker almost to a gunmetal/dark gray. What do you recommend using for that?

Do you guys contact spryevo through MGS or through an email? I have a question about the insert I need to get for my restore. What way have you guys had the most success contacting him?

Wow @xstiffshafts that is the color I am wanting for my putter I'm trying to refinish. Maybe one day I'll get around to finish it. I've had it sanded and ready to work on for weeks now.

Well here's where I'm at right now on my first refinish. (Please pardon the old glue that I haven't cleaned out of where the insert and badge go)
I'm thinking of a darker finish our torching it and putting one of the milled copper inserts from spryevo into it. What do you think?

Ok those were the two options I was contemplating. I think for my first redo I'll just sand the whole face but spryevo has some nice inserts that I really like.

Any more ideas guys? I heated up the back insert and the badge and back insert came out but I can't get the face to come out. Tried boiling it and prying it out, didn't work. Tried getting my heat gun on it for a good 7-8 minutes that didn't help either.

Ok so hearing it up should be enough to get it out? There's also an insert in the back with the TM logo on it.

Also I plan on going darker with the color. Still deciding on how dark and which route to go.

It's milled into the face so it doesn't come out. It's just a different color but the same metal.

So I started my work on this guy today. It's my first time doing this. Any suggestions on how to deal with the milling on the face? It has a bunch of dings and is like to get rid of them. All of them are outside the red area in the middle.

@xstiffshafts I just finished a second bachelor's this last week so now I have time to start. Trying to get an old tp Mills that someone here in Utah is selling but they won't get back to me. I've got an old Taylormade rossa I'll start on in the next week. I'll keep you posted though. I'm excited to try this.

Thanks @aliens8mycow. I actually found one in my area earlier today for cheap. I mostly need help learning the process and then I know practicing it will help me hone my skills.

Love seeing all the work you guys do. Truly amazing! So much so that I actually want to learn how to do this to my own putters. If anyone has a second I'd love any advice you've got.

What products would I use to get the dark finish on the two blades posted here? I've got an Odyssey black #3(the silver milled face version) that I would like to finish in that dark color.
