  6. OK team... i am back in the land of the living. I have time to apply to supporting others in their testing, threads etc. What do I need to be following and adding my 2 (smartass) cents to?!?!

  9. Cobra kit in the house!! Had a package waiting when I got home. Hat, shirt - maaaybe could have grabbed a size up but I used the sizing of a puma shirt I have. Just gotta hit the gym now the golf season is winding down here in van. [emoji23] Aaaannnnddd.... A pimp pair of Ignite spiked shoes. Man they feel comfortable and the grip looks deadly! I can definitely see these keeping me grounded as I work towards #400 Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  10. Hey team!! I'm alive!! The dust is finally settling around my house after a great tournament on the weekend. We were incredibly lucky with the weather! Rained Friday night and into the early hours of Sat morning, then cleared up. Sunday it pissed down ALL DAY! So lucky. At this stage we think around $25k raised. Along with about 25k beers consumed [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] Over the next few days I will filter back through the thread and catch up. Hope you're all well - miss you guys!!! 11. 1 am... just wrapped up the nights duties [emoji15] I'll leave you with one other quick note Nunfa0 - This bloke generously donated his week 8 winnings to my tournament. I am incredibly grateful and humbled by the support. Another I owe a beer! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  12. So.... the "exciting things"... I played Westwood Plateau (again) and put together a nice little round of 75 - 38/37. Sorry, no #400, but i did bang a 338, 335 and 320... Hope that means something??!?! Highlight of the round was an eagle on the par 5 17th - 482 yards. Finally bagged one! But, the really exciting thing is my scoring on Par 5's I wish there was a way for me to select just par 5's and enter a date range for stats - Perhaps there is but I haven't discovered it! Here is the overview of my 5 rounds at Westwood. My par 5 scoring is lights out! Apart from hole #4 which seems to have my measure right now, I am feasting on the par 5's. I NEVER had this kind of success previously. Sure, there were eagle putts here and there, birdies etc. even triples! But, the consistency and confidence I have when tackling a par 5 now is through the roof!!
  13. Thanks mate! It sure felt good to get more than 5 hours sleep haha! Unfortunately it was neither... but... i will get a post up shortly THIS IS BRILLIANT!!! HAHA! Hey Cobra peeps.... Just say when!! LOL! You are right on the money here. Even further proof to the quality of the product is I reckon I have been to the range 3-4 times this year with these clubs (and with my kids so its more them hitting and then me just jumping in for a bit) and a couple of time filler chipping sessions. Sure I played basically once a week, but.... Practice makes perfect.. Well.... maybe it's "Cobra makes perfect"...... Once again, Cobra peeps! JUST SAY WHEN!! I have a scramble tourney tomorrow. You can bet your first born I will be playing anchor!! #400 AMEN! Na mate. Legit question. If there is one thing that the stats have showed me - along with my scoring - is the dispersion and misses. Sure, I can clear two fairways if i swing like a bag of s***. Thats not the club, that's me. But, with these clubs, the distance retention on a mishit and then the reduced flare, has kept more balls in play for me and it has shown on my stats. Extra distance with the big dog has also been very, very nice
  14. Hi everyone! Apologies again! I have been incredibly busy the past few weeks and spare time is scarce! Just finished writing up 30+ Silent auction sheets, hole assignments for Saturday and moving onto tee gifts in a minute here! Here it is... It has been an amazing 8 weeks (plus the additional weeks leading into the challenge). I truly believe I have made some great new friends in this thread. I look forward to the friendships continuing as I transition into a supporting role for your challenges! Without you guys hitting the thread up with great questions, feedback, banter and just all round enthusiasm - this thread doesn't jive. My fellow testers. You blokes are legends. I really enjoyed the comradery and support we all showed toward each other. Side note to that.. the smack talk was top notch! That's my jam there, folks! Love a good "sledge" as we call it in Oz. Our fearless leaders... the mods... Rob and Stud, hats off to you gents. Bloody HUUUUGE effort and I owe you both a beer. You can collect in Vancouver Ok.. Onto the numbers!! Baseline #'s The "make you feel funny in the pants" #'s
  15. Hey team. Apologies on being MIA here! It's bloody hectic for me at the moment. Tournament preparation is taking up a lot of my time. Tonight will actually be the first time in about 6 weeks that I am in bed before 1130... so imma enjoy that! I should be back online tomorrow evening at some stage (possibly even in the morning) - see how things go! Some exciting things happened in my round today that's kinda the “icing on the cake”... even though the cake has just been finished Lol Joyzee Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  16. With all the work going into this thread (plus the time I am spending on the tournament), I havent had time to dive into others. I get addicted very quickly... so I try to focus on one thing at a time! hahah BIG SEXY!!! Rob lives about 5-10 minutes away from me. We play on the regular and drink tins on the regular too! Might try and drag him down to Washington when we go for a hit Dave. thank you sir. I was always pushing s*** up a hill once you lit the joint up! Way to go! Good on ya MD. You're a trooper my man!
  17. Haha yep lol. As I mentioned, with it being a little damp, the course saved me. Turned it over and it took an almighty left hand bounce. If that were pre rain... I'm taking a 6 or worse. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  18. Mornin all! Well, I m not playing this weekend, so my final challenge has been completed. 74 at Westwood Plateau - 132/69.9. Not going to be enough, but hey, I played great golf when it mattered! Started off a little shaky. The old, "out of the car and straight onto the tee" was in full effect. No driving range at the course which kinda sucks and a 7am tee time to boot! Oh, and it was raining... Classic Vancouver! Mon - Fri it's beautiful and then rain first thing saturday! HAHA The first hole has given me some problems lately - Playing there Monday and hoping to remedy that! Got through the first 3 and then onto another hole that for some reason I am just not playing well on. I went hard right off the tee and had to take a drop. Things weren't looking good. 2 over after 4, then I hit a little patch of good ball striking. Laced my drive on 5, dropped it about 10 ft from the pin but caught a downslope and ran out to 28. Left the putt sitting 2" outside the cup. But, it was a par. Hit another GIR on the par 3 and had a standard 2 putt par. Nothing exciting. On to the big one.... the beast... Hole 7! I am sure you all know what I had in mind here! I was going to try and emulate the 373 drive... But, alas... I turned it over a little too much and was actually lucky to hold the fairway. The rain and damp conditions saved my bacon. Had a tricky side hill lie and just couldn't commit, lifted my head, fell off the shot and topped a 6i down the fairway... UGH! But, I then played a sweeet 58 into 14 feet (spun back about 8) and nailed the putt. Feathers! 8... I don't even want to talk about 8... Hook... Lost ball.. played this hole like a dummy. Double. PUKE! Finished out the 9 by lacing a 4i 262 and making par. +3 on the front. The back 9 did not start well. Hit a poo 4i (after smashing it the shot before) and had to head to the drop area. Recovered well and made bogey. Nothing special on 11. Moved onto the par 3 12th, hit a nice 9 iron a little deep and was on the back of the green. It was one of those putts that i could just see the exact line. Almost like it was drawn onto the green. Decent breaking putt and I stepped up and nailed it. BANG! I am back! 13 was a fat, sky ball 3 wood that left me a looooong way out. Hit a solid 8 up tot he green and went up and down. Happy with that result! 14, I have been eating this hole alive this year. Kept my drive out to the right and with the wet conditions, no run but it's an elevated 2nd shot so it wasn't a big problem. Cold conditions were a factor as the ball wasn't carrying as far as it has been. Hit the front of the green and had a 2 putt birdie. Actually left the first putt about 8 ft short lol but held my cool and drained the 2nd. 15 and 16 were standard and then i made birdie on 17 and par on 18. 3 birdies on the back, 2 bogeys and it was a -1 35. Best I could do boys!!
  19. "Cooling Mask"... WTF?!?! I have one in the books and one coming up tomorrow. Never played the track before so we will see what happens. I am going to really concentrate on fairways. As long as i am on the short stuff, the rest of the boys will be shakin in their boots.... Wedgie.... As long as you can take it... we will give it. Like Marshawn Lynch said "I'm gonna get got, but I'm gonna get, more than I get got". He is the ONLY thing I liked about the shithawks. The team at arccos is doing an awesome job of updating and improving the functionality of the system. They are no doubt using feedback to make it as simple and user friendly as possible. Even since we have begun using it, there has been several modifications and updates. SHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are trying to get a trip to cobra headquarters here! Imagine that.... they pull us all together and have a game! Winner gets to have a round with Rickie.... Spot on. Calm like a bomb.....
  20. 1) Grips have been fine. No negatives that spring to mind. 2) Rained my last round and i did have a couple of slips, but that's more on me managing the towel for wipe down etc. Would expect the same from most grips. 3) I haven't cleaned them once - in saying that - I am planning to give them a rub down tonight. I like to clean them in the kitchen sink... The missus LOVES it when i do that Warm, soapy water with a cloth/scrubber, then towel dry. Next steps is spray some windex on the grips and rub down with a clean towel. Makes them nice and tacky. Growing up playing footy, we used to use something called "grippo" on our hands. Was supposed to be used for lawn bowls and golf clubs but i never used it on that. If you wanted cray tacky, try Belt grip lol. 4) Hasn't put me off at all. In all honesty, the grips are fine. I got them in a midsize and will adjust them back to regular after the challenge. I hope that cobra teams up with other grip companies and provides different options. I had the Golf Pride CP-2 Pro's on the old clubs and LOVED them. Putting up with you lot! Na.. JK. It's been a lot of work in the background. Write ups, reviews, questions etc. I have loved it, but it has been a lot of work. Other than that.... It's been a slice!
  21. it aint winding down... it's the calm before the storm boys!
  22. Basic over view was - One gent voted for FOz and said no point hitting it a mile if you can't finish it off. Foz had a tap in birdie. 6ft is tap in for me... *MIC DROP* Yes, Chris Hemsworth would play me. NO questions! LOVE LOVE LOVE that mike took his daughter out for a round. Legend. Way to dad! If RobbyBayntun don't post a picture with the caption "pimpin aint easy" I will unfriend him! People reading/lurking - get in here! Nunfa0 said I need to play exceptionally... that's an understatement lol!! I need to play the round of my life on a course i have never played - Nicklaus North in Whistler... be kind to me, Jack! Although, I do have some fire in the belly after getting done last night.... Finally.......
  23. I have tried posting responses to posts and it's shitting it's pants... grrrr
  24. Thanks mate! Was good to bounce back off a couple of bad rounds. Bit off yesterday. Didn't really catch a sweet one with it. Need to get to the range and get the swing going again with it. I love it, just an off day. Voting closed at 12 eastern, I thought? Or did I miss a post with a time change? Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
